Well ..Tis the season to trash Chex once again.

Membership Approved

Affinity CU - Approved
Alliant CU - Approved
Keypoint CU - Approved
SAFE CU - Approved
USALLIANCE CU - Approved

Membership Denied

First Tech - Denied / Chex Inqs.( glad I was not approved / too much revolving credit is an issue)
UNFCU Denied / Chex Inqs. (also I am glad after reading up on this one)

And you're right...probably better off without FirstTech and UNFCU

So I am thinking around JAN 2nd we'll start to see some preapprovals flood in!! Tis the season....

I was just checking out Keypoint and it looks like they offer a EX SP Approval/Prequal online. At least the verbiage is there about "Check your score" "Eligibility to borrow..."

#1 KEYPOINT CREDIT UNION Membership - pending + $20,000 Credit Card (Mod cut - not here please. This is prohibited on the myFICO Forums per the TOS @Anonymous)

#2 SIGNATURE FCU Membership ... working to obtain their VISA SIGNATURE.....

Congrats on Alliant! I applied three weeks ago and even called last week and still have not heard from them. May just call to withdraw my application as three weeks is WAY too long to wait just for membership approval.

Hi @Matt9543 , This very same thing happened to me over a year ago.

I applied for membership and heard crickets. I never followed up as I had just opened a bunch of memberships with CU's.

You may want to give them a phone call, I personally think it would be worth your time. Just My $0.02's worth.

Are you more likely to receive prequal offers from CUs if you're a member? Or is there some other benefit to being a member with lots of CUs?

Side note, I'm not sure how many CUs I could get approved for as I keep getting declined for a Discover checking account because of my ChexSystems score, which is currently 581.

The scary thing is that they populate your name and address after you enter your DOB and phone number. I got a $14k card offer. I don't even know if I qual for membership to this CU. I just did the pqual. Such an addict. I need help. 🤣

@AnonymousAt least with Affinity the answer is yes. They periodically send me an email of all the products I am pre-approved for.
