HSBC Credit Card transferring or not?

I have a HSBC MasterCard, so far I have not receive a single thing about my account transferring to Citizens. Is it safe to assume HSBC will continue to service my account? And no I'm not preimer customer.

I am in the same boat and the online chat said I was staying . And due to lack of any communication , I'm assuming that is correct . I am non primier and not large cl on my 2 cards. Maybe they will be selling us to someone else . A letter saying I'm staying would have been nice . Anything .

I've received multiple letters from HSBC and a welcome packet from Citizens whose cover letter specifically listed out my own accounts, so if you received nothing, and assuming HSBC had your correct current mailing address, I think it's a pretty safe bet that you aren't being transitioned to Citizens.

HSBC failing to explicitly inform you that you are not being transitioned out is IMO definitely poor customer service.

I only use this card twice a year to keep it alive. I use it last month, and received my statement in the mail. I called HSBC, the rep said all the information is available online, and I will also be receiving letters in the mail. Since I didn't get anything about the switch, the rep assume the account will be staying with HSBC. Yes, talk about bad customer service.

I received a letter from Citizens regarding my HSBC checking account. The letter said that all HSBC credit cards would be transferred and converted into the Citizens Cash Back Plus and the points would be transferred at a 1:1 rate.

However, I never received any communications regarding my credit card account. Everything was about my checking account (Advance customer here) and this info was in a booklet that was meant for checking accounts only but that had some info on cards and mortgages. It did say I would receive specific information on my Credit Card account starting in February.

I am glad some people have received a letter from HSBC.

I have receiving nothing - no email, no snail mail, no smoke signals...

I have two HSBC cards and haven't heard a word.

...both were used for Balance Transfers and have had no use since... so if I lose them... meh.

I haven't had a single email or letter sent about my Mastercard. I just use once a quarter to keep it alive.

If it transitions to Citizens, I just hope they have better customer service.

I have not gotten any letters saying that my credit card will be going to Citizens Bank but online at one point with Citizens they said ALL HSBC CC will be going now that is gone, but in the book they send me said it will be going to Citizens but no offical letter saying it's going over to Citizens. HSBC said my CC will be staying with them (HSBC Cash Card). This has not been a easy for straight forward merger even in the slightest. When they did this years ago with other cards it was not much better. They should take a lesson from BB&T and Suntrust that was very easy and knowing how and what was going on and not keeping people in the dark.

In an aside as to a transfer of the account, Chase told me numerous times my AARP would be staying with them and not going to Barclays. As the day approached I got a letter from both banks, Chase letter said they were transferring my account to barclays and barclays saying welcome.... If the entire portfolio was bought all cards will be transferred.

Nothing here either but honestly I don't use the card since having to navigate their website to pay is such a god awful experience. This is one of the cards I definitely regret getting

I have an HSBC Gold card (no HSBC checking or savings) and haven't been notified of any changes as to a new card servicer. I was actually just given a soft pull credit limit increase. I live in Washington state, if that makes any difference.

Yes, you ain't kidding paying the card is a nightmare to even get the page to load I have to try it like five to six times and hope it works. My last payment was send back unpaid HSBC said I did not have the funds in the account and I say it's paid thru HSBC cheque account look at the balance and they oohhh all for a $20 balance on the CC with more then plenty to pay it. Uggh!

Yeah , I'm still an HSBC card holder even though no longer offer my cards . And they are not premier . Oh well . They will stay in the undies drawer .

I spoke with citizens today (21 Feb 2022) and they told me that my credit card will be coming over to them from HSBC but will take some time up to two weeks more. I have had two reps tell me this.

@Cory88, Thank you for the update, I was beginning to wonder?

My (2) HSBC cards are still under the HSBC log-in.

They are NOT under Citizens log-in.

As @Anonymous would say, "smooth takeover"
