Quorum FCU Membership & DPs

I just had to jump on the bandwagon. Applied for membership, not and instant approval for me. I had EX locked and it gave me a 24/48 hour review notice for the app. I have since unlocked EX. I didn't get a hit on the other bureaus yet either. We will see what they pull for me in California.

After membership (if approved) I will apply for that darn card.

I was trying to not get another account, but this was too tempting with the number of EX pulls Globetrotter83 already had showing. I will post what happens next.

They may be Chex sensitive. I applied for membership and went pending; I'll post an update in 24-48 hours when I hear from them.

I boarded the train as well but went pending with 24-48 notice. I thawed EX before applying and so far no HP. I'm in Ohio. I had EQ and TU on ice though. Probably should have thawed those as well before applying. Will update when results received.

What it a hard or soft credit inquiry to join? Did they also use ChexSystems?

Hello all,

I think I know what the issue may be. I applied for another membership/application with another credit union which was immediately denied (membership). The adverse notice was available online and stated Chex Systems shows a consumer fraud alert. I don't recall placing a consumer fraud alert on my file and even I did, I would think they would contact me to see if it was my applying. I went to Chex Systems to review my file (you can request one online or mail). Report has all my information and who has viewed my file but shows no adverse information. I'm at a loss on this one but will do some more research on this, as I've had no negative history with any bank/credit union since 2003 (If BK on credit cards count).

Congrats! Jumped aboard the train and applied for membership, went to 24 hr pending. My EX was unthawed but EQ and TU were locked. Will report back on Monday

More information about chexsystems. Time to slow down with these apps I've had 7 inq's on chexsystems this month alone. Prior to that I had one in 2020 and one in 2019 on chexsystems. The inq's got me.

I'm not sure of that but I assume the inq's had something to do with the denial. I have zero derogatory items on chexsystems so my thought is its the inq's in such a short time.

So I went ahead and applied for membership last night. Received the common "24-48 hours” message. The thing that drove me crazy from this and another Quorum thread was no firm answer if there was a hard pull for membership. I immediately confirmed they only did a soft pull on my Experian report. Good news for anyone worried about that part.

The second thing worth mentioning is that it’s not necessary to join the partner association, such as American Consumer Council (ACC), prior to starting the Quorum membership application process. Everyone can qualify for ACC as long "you currently use or have used a major consumer product or service in the past 12 months." I just submitted my $8 ACC membership fee via credit card and received an emailed receipt. The ACC membership details should arrive within 24 hours. I will report back on the Quorum membership application. For all I know maybe they want you in the ACC system before approving membership.

what do u mean plz? do we need to hv ACC membership or we dont? if not then how to be eligible for the membership?

There are many ways to be eligible for Quorum membership even if you aren't affiliated from the main SEG affiliation list. Go here: https://www.quorumfcu.org/why-quorum/eligibility. If you aren't sure of the Quorum affiliation the easiest way is to join through a partner association such as American Consumer Council (ACC) - https://www.americanconsumercouncil.org – to be eligible, just confirm that "you currently use or have used a major consumer product or service in the past 12 months." Click the Join Now link. Scroll to the bottom. You pay $8 and at the bottom check all applicable boxes for how you are eligible and qualify. I checked at least 6 boxes on that list. Just a theory, but it’s possible joining ACC first helps for an instant Quorum membership approval (just in case they somehow check the ACC system for an existing membership certificate and number). If not, you can still apply for Quorum membership and then join ACC later.
