topic tax-free annuity early cash out question in Personal Finance

Goood morning fellows. I have two separate annuities with Allstate and AGI. They are a conservative investment and both tax-free and maturing at like 8% or higher since pre-911 crisis. If I cash out one of these, the current value is like $140 to 160k, but if I leave them as is they are for '20 years (transferrable to a beni), and life' paying $57,000 annually free and clear of capital gains tax. Each one is valued at around $600,000, and life. What could I invest in today that could beat the rate and tax free incentive. I get offers in the mail and harassing phone calls from companies who want to purchase these from me directly. Any pointers would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks.

ILM

You should be able to get 10-12% on good growth-stock mutual funds. The market is down right now so it's the perfect time to buy, you'll be buying at a discount. That's what I'd do, YMMV
