Some credit unions and banks have early direct deposit. If you use direct deposit, they make it available a day or two early, sometimes even sooner than that.

The ones I know that offer this feature are listed below.

If you know of others, let me know and I'll add them to this post. When doing so, be sure to specify what their membership eligibility requirements are, so I'll know how to classify them. If early direct deposit is available only for some accounts, or to some members, please specify the details of eligibility for early direct deposit.

Any updates or corrections would be welcome as well.

Open membership credit unions:

1.

One thing that I have figured out is that the "one, two or three day early" is really dependent on when the originating financial institution pushes the payments. It can be 3 days from one payee and 1 for another, and also vary from month to month depending on what day your regular pay day falls. This service in the fine print is more like " we will give it too you when we get it, won't hold it for interest". No guarantee you get it 1, 2 or 3 days early.

So, I guess that's kind of a YEMV.

This is almost how it happened for me over 2 yrs ago. I would call in and talk to a CSR and ask for early release and after 2-3 times of this, it is now automatic.

I'll have to give this call in (automatic system) a try with Navy Federal. I seem to get mine on payday with Navy Federal. With PenFed I get it a day early like clockwork. Thank for the info. As soon as I see it pending with Navy Federal, I'll call in.

I know Baxter Credit Union and United HealthGroup credit union (part of Baxter CU) also do early direct deposit. They call it enhanced direct deposit.

as for a bank. I notice smaller banks do it more often than larger. Phoenixville Federal does post a day early. They do not advertise it though, so it is most likely just a system thing.

I gave the NFCU automic system all call... nothing new besides my general account information. The system did let me know that I had a pending direct deposit which arrived two days early in their system and showed in my online banking... however, the system also stated when the funds would be available. There was no option to press to receive it early. If 10pm or later the night before is early, that sucks. But hey... I did give it try.

You have both Mountain America and America First listed as very limited membership, but both of them are actually open to everyone.

America First has numerous different PTA's you can join and they aren't geo-locked, I joined and I live in Minnesota way outside of their footprint. The lady on the phone who help me set up my America First membership joined the Nevada PTA for me and they paid the PTA fee/dues on my behalf for me.

Mountain America you can be eligible by joining the American Consumer Council and they aren't geo-locked either, I even reached out to them via Facebook because when I decided to join America First I was contemplating on joining one or the other (Mountain America or America First) but I ultimately ended up choosing America First.
