PenFed loan approval

Edit: Was initially pre approved for 20k, but took 5k as it was all that was needed!

Just applied and was approved for a PenFed personal loan of $5k for 48 months @Anonymous %

I was also prequalified for a U.S. bank loan same amount with slightly higher rate.

I chose PenFed

Also called to see if I could use the pull for a cli on my PenFed PCR and was told it may be a separate HP so I declined to go through with it. My EX report was pulled and PenFed usually pulls EQ for me?

Congrats on the approval! If you pay it off in a few months, then the interest rate won't be so significant. That's a good plan!

Congrats! And the double dip using one pull only works for two credit cards. As you said, they pull EQ for credit cards, but EX for loans.

Congrats !!! I just got approved for a $16,000 personal from pendfed today. No POI was requested and the money will be in my account by Tuesday next week !

I'm not sure what version other than it was an Experian pull

Congratulations on your approval. 16% is quite high, but at least you got it all planned to pay off in a few months, so that is good.

My personal DP:

PenFed did a SP on EQ for savings account to join membership, but it seems their system needs to be worked on. When I tried to check my interest rate on a personal loan, I had all my reports frozen, and the email I received from them specifically stated that I needed to unfreeze EQ. When multiple attempts of trying to find out my qualified rate failed, I called PenFed only to be told that they need EX to be unfrozen, NOT EQ. I told them that they should fix their system so that people won't be confused like I was.
