Best service to use for budgeting?

Right now I use Mint for basic budgeting, to see where I'm at, and (most importantly) keep track of upcoming bills with all of these cards I have. But lately the app has been clunky + a pain to navigate.

Are there other apps out there that are better? I also noticed that through some bank like US Bank, Redstone, etc offer similar services as well. Are they any good? Would you trust your bank with all of your account + budgeting info?

I do it manually periodically as I monitor my FI accounts... hence, spreadsheet and slowly working with GnuCash since I'm an old school double entry fan and want multi-platform, locally installed software for this.

If you wanting to use an data aggregator, not all are created equal and none probably work flawlessly for everything.

I'm not comfortable using those services as they typically request login credentials for external accounts.

Sometime in the future this stuff will perhaps evolve into a standard of some sort, but will still infuse a great deal of additional legal ramifications, which are already quite overwhelming to digest simply due to online access to FI data.

Give YNAB a trial run. It has a bit of a learning curve, but people swear by it once it all clicks.

I use Tiller spreadsheets. It is a total finance management package. You set up your monthly budgets, and it downloads all your financial data, once the data is categorized you can look at monthly, yearly and year to date budgeting information.

You can use it is Excel or Google sheets. I myself prefer excel as I do not want anymore of my financial information on the internet.

For work, I've had to get pretty well acquainted with Excel spreadsheets. I wanted to see if there was something I could use that would keep me out of them,so I, too, tried Mint. I don't think it's built for use with as many institutions as I have. As someone stated earlier, there are hiccups to be concerned about. I've, personally, faced compatibility issues, especially with PenFed and Navy Federal which is a bit disappointing to me considering the size and popularity of those institutions. You would hope that things just would work with them. But alas... Back to the Excel spreadsheets I was sent. Lol
