Advice on joining Virginia FCU

If you're interested in joining Virginia Federal Credit Union, and are not in their geographical area, here's a great way to do it:

1. Join the Friends of Chesterfield Library for $15.

2. Wait until the Friends of Chesterfield Library mails you its very friendly welcome package.

3. The welcome package includes a page of instructions, with a Referral Code, for joining Virginia FCU.

4. Apply following their instructions and using their referral code.

Once you do that it's 1-2-3, and you're done.

Are they chex sensitive, also for membership is it SP on EQ?

SP for membership.

I don't think they're especially Chex sensitive, since I got in, and have a relatively large number of 'inquiries' in Chex.

Yes.

Well I don't know. I just have my own experience. I frequently get turned down for Chex inquiries, but they didn't turn me down.

I had pretty easily gotten a membership in the midst of churning quite a few bank SUBs recently before applying with no problem and no HP.

Curious why you are interested in VCU if not in the state - is there a SUB I'm not aware of? I'm a member as I'm a state employee, but it is a pretty unimpressive credit union as far as I'm aware if you aren't a state employee (they have some additional loan options, etc) and I'm only a member for some of the local discount benefits with other businesses. However, if it has some hidden gem I'm not aware of, I would love to hear! I prefer NFCU and Apple FCU (as local credit union) for products.
