My current personal bank accounts are held at a credit union, and the savings account portion offers only a 0.05% interest rate. I was looking for something better, if possible.

I was wondering what the consensus is among the more knowledgeable individuals here regarding personal bank accounts from companies like American Express, Chase, Wells Fargo, etc.?

From what I've read, the opinion seems mixed, and a lot of the more mainstream banks have been lowering their APYs. However, what any of them offer seems better than what I currently have.

Thank you for your opinions!

Amex and Capone offer 3.5%. You can do better, but many include some hoops jumping. I use a cash management account at fidelity investments, which is paying 3.96%. The cma has all the features of a checking account, but no branches.

Here's a link,

https://www.bing.com/aclk?ld=e8thhWog2co6kHL_V4HCsH0zVUCUxWRqo44qX3DP6KJcq3M5eAoKjiNkEaRngnJb-CR-3iU4gAcaUxVQU6DkT6eVG2WnWuU6oPLJGzweo_MWqCjLzOuXISC5JgrkfxB8qlijwxj-HM41xBmNMFWWUXjfyhZVD6a2izzPbwivXTQQ8evrsENMZvma1lNOFAA7_gAnu9qQ&u=aHR0cHMlM2ElMmYlMmZ3d3cubmVyZHdhbGxldC5jb20lMmZtJTJmYmFua2luZyUyZnN0YW5kb3V0LW9ubGluZS1zYXZpbmdzLWFjY291bnRzLTIlM2Ztc2Nsa2lkJTNkYTJlNTg4YjVkZmI5MWQ5NjJlNTRlMDAzZTNlNGU1NmQlMjZ1dG1fc291cmNlJTNkYmluZyUyNnV0bV9tZWRpdW0lM2RjcGMlMjZ1dG1fY2FtcGFpZ24lM2Ria19ta3RnX3BhaWRfMDEwMTIzX3NhdmluZ3NfdG9wYmVzdHJhdGVzX2JpbmclMjZ1dG1fdGVybSUzZGJlc3QlMjUyMHNhdmluZ3MlMjUyMGFjY291bnQlMjUyMGludGVyZXN0JTI1MjByYXRlcyUyNnV0bV9jb250ZW50JTNkVG9wJTI1MkZiZXN0JTI1MjBpbnRlcmVzdCUyNTIwcmF0ZXM&rlid=a2e588b5dfb91d962e54e003e3e4e56d&ntb=1

If you can find a HYCA that's as good as (or better) the best HYSAs, you may not even need a savings account. I use primis. They are advertising 4.05% but, for some reason, I am still at 4.20%. I keep more than enough money in there to cover all my auto-pay bills and I just watch the $2XX interest payments come in every month. No hoops. 24/7 live American service. In fact, I had to call today (Labor Day) at 6pm my time (I think 8pm her time) and the friendly English speaking service rep was there to help. All ATM fees are refunded. Whatever you decide, do not keep your money rotting at 0.05%.
