The SAGA is over. Earlier today I was approved for a New Holiday Loan at the 6.9% APR. This Loan paid off the Loan I opened on 10/30/25 so ultimately I went from a Loan at a Local CU with a 10.65% APR and 60 month term to a 48 month term loan at 6.9% APR/$187 month payment.

I'd say the 35.2% reduction in the APR while also lowering the term of the Loan to 48 months was well worth the time/effort I spent in pursuing it-which were 2 phone calls and 3 emails. I will be paying $100 every other Friday on this new Loan and I expect to have it paid off within 40 months if not sooner.

I wanted to be sure I kept my promise to update this thread as I made in my first post.

BTW-when Justice orignally declined my Loan-they reported my EQ score as 810 & I did not take out a $10K loan. I only had to payoff my original loan. I am not sure if they made an exception for me or not (and I frankly don't care) to not get at least $2500 in new funds but I very happy that this worked out the way that it did.

Hi Folks,

I was approved for/closed on a $7775 Signature Loan with Justice on 10/30/25. During the procesing of that Loan, the latest Fed rate reduction happened and I even asked if that would factor in and I was told No. Low & befold on 11/4/25, Jutice announced a Holiday Loan special-up to $10K for as low as 6.9% APR. I called them back late Thursday as the first chance I had to do so when they were open and spoke with one of their Branch Managers who saw no reason why I could not appy again to get this lower rate so he opened the new application for me and I sent him a load of docs-POI, Proof of Residence, ID etc etc. The only doc that Justice did not alreyd have was my paystub dated 11/7/25 and since I had them all easily available-I sent all of the docs over. Of course, he could not guarantee that Underwrinting would approve the re-fi but since Justice re-uses Equifax hard pulls for 60 days, I figure why not save a few dollars with mimimal effort in my part. My Eq FICO 8 & FICO 9 scores when Justice pulled them were 794 & 796 so I say they shoud approve this re-fi but I will update this post when I find out what they will do. Regardless of the come, my plan is to agressively pay down Justice in less than 3 years.

This loan paid off 2 loans I had-one at Upstart and 1 at Local FCU I belong to. The Local FCU Loan had a 10.65% APR and had 48 months left on a 60 month term. I'd say the 35% rate reduction while keeping the 48 month term is well worth the effort. Both of those Loan are paid in full now. If you disagree-I'll agree to disagree with you.

Assuming this was a similar loan type for loan type, I would agree this would be to your advantage. You don't find personal loans often for this kind of rate. Well done.

However, if you paid off a secured type of loan, which you can acquire for less of a rate, perhaps not so much of an advantage in rate, but there's always "different" opportunity in exchanging a "secured" loan, for an "unsecured" loan. I understand this very well, done it a few times as a just in case.

The new (and hopefully interim) Loan from Justice is a Personal Unsecured Loan and the proceeds were used to pay off the other 2 unsecured loans I had with Upstart and a Local CU. The only secured debut I have ever had were car loans as I have never had a Mortgage or HELOC/Home Equity Loan as I have luckily never needed any of these kinds of secured loans.

There is a small wrinkle with re-fi of the just opened Justice loan but I hope to have that approval secured on Monday or at the latest Tuesday as I still intend to report back to the community what the final outcome of my situation will be.

I am a very disatisfied Justice member right now as they Declined the new Loan to replace the Loan they approved on 10/30/25. Had I just waited until 11/4/25 to apply-I would have been approved for the 6.9% Hoiday Loan APR instead of the 8.49% APR I was stuck with. The Branch Manager who entered my app has yet to call me back and I bet that he knows I am PISSED. Maybe he already asked that my app be reviewed again by Underwriting. I am emailing him tonight to ask that he have the Reg B letter emailed to me via secured email -I know that Justice can do this-as I do not want to wait for it in the mail.

Maybe I am just being a jerk but when nothing has changed with me-same job/same pay/same credit and I was willing to pay original Loan down to $7500 to get $2500 in new funds to pay off the 1st loan and then immediately paydown the principal of the new loan using the extra $2500 along with a new $239/month payment instead of the $192/month payment on my current loan, it doesn't make sense to me why the new loan was declined.
