Somehow I missed the $99 after the first year, thanks. Went to every single site on the non-geofenced list last night and I guess I was scrolling too fast. Still though, not a bad catch all card for the year if you want a 3% first year that has better acceptance than the Disco Miles.

@TrapLine I have a document that has all the ones I know accept American Consumer Council. So periodly I search for anything new. At least two of my current credit unions were joined via the ACC. I prefer credit unions to banks at this point in time. I definitely can get better savings rates at credit unions.

@crystal626 The blue credit card from NIH is not bad depending what other cards you have

GreenState Credit Union, they updated their online application you do not need to call to join via ACC anymore. You are able to join via ACC online and they do check ChexSystems. However, loans and credit cards are geo fenced to Illinos, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, or Wisconsin.

As far as I can tell, memberships to the credit union and checking accounts are not geofenced via ACC.'

I myself, as a Minnesota resident, was able to join online via ACC and get approved for a credit card.

@Royalbacon Try opening a deposit account as a new member and enter a zip code that is not in the drop down list like 91352 which is in California. The web site will only allow you to proceed with a zip code that is in the drop down list. They will remain in my geo fenced list until such time as that zip code restriction is removed.

In the past when First National Bank of Omaha (FNBO) was credit card geo-restricted your suggestion worked on them too (favorite zip 68001).

My zip code in Minnesota wasn't on the list and I typed it in when I joined and all went through fine. (And got approved for a $15,000 limit credit card a few days later)

Zip code 90210 (only California zip code I know off the top of my head) works just fine too. You have to select either General Membership Ages 18+ or Youth Membership, or the "next" button at the bottom will remain greyed out and un-clickable irregardless of what zip code you use.

@Royalbacon I see what I did wrong. You are correct I could join from California. If I understand Greenstate the states the will give credit cards and other loans is limited. If I joined I could get a checking or savings account and that's it. Please confirm if I am right or wrong? If I am correct by un geofencing them everyone else on the list of non geofenced credit unions you get bank credit card and loans except Greenstate. That is a problem I need to think about. Does Greenstate pull Chex Systems?

Yes, you are correct. And yes they pull ChexSystems.

It's rare but not unheard of for a credit union to be open to everyone yet Geofences their credit cards. LMCU (Lake Michigan Credit Union) is another such credit union that does so.

I am a KS resident and had no problem opening membership....very easy and smooth online!

Don't know if they pulled CHEX and I have not received notice of my credit being pulled

GreenState also has on their membership eligibility page a map where you can click on each state and they'll tell you what products you're able to open in that particular state. https://www.greenstate.org/about-greenstate

3 Rivers credit union does not accept the ACC for membership and geofenced to the states shown. I will remove it from the list on my next update

@IaBoy62 Thank for the information I have updated my list and Liberty First Credit Union will be included on my next update

@Royalbacon I will leave Greenstate as geofenced and add a note stating deposit accounts are not geofenced but loans and credit card

Nah doesn't look like it. Also an extremely small credit union with less than 10,000 members.

I was going ask why Aerospace then I saw their credit card, holy moly!

5% cash back on gasoline purchases*
4% cash back on dining & entertainment purchases*
3% cash back on travel purchases*

Oh in the fine print it says the max cash back is $100 per month for the Aerospace card. Still a really freakin' good card though!

I guess the limit on the cash back per month is kind of a given and to be expected. It's either that or they eventually nerf the heck out of the card in some other way once it proves to be very unprofitable for the credit union.

Dude, $100 max earned per month is astounding. Other 5% cards are often 5% on max spend of $500/mo or $1500/qtr, earning only $25/mo or $75/qtr!

You're right. It's late now after 4 am CST, and while I typed it right, I read it wrong and my brain processed it wrong and I was thinking of something else altogether.

I grossed around $60k in 2025. I don't spend, nor could I even afford to spend thousands upon thousands to hit $100 in cash back per month.
