Yes they are a good outfit.

Credit unions in general are doing a nice job of stepping up to the plate to help people in this crisis.

In no way am I advising chicanery or dishonesty. I went into an NFCU office here in Southern California and told them my father was in the Navy during WWII (which happens to be true). That was that. No more checking, other than I listed his full name. If you have siblings or grandparents who were in any branch of the military (not just the Navy), you can use them. I'd hold off trying to use the Confederacy. I asked them if my uncle and cousins - all of whom were in the military - would work. NFCU said no. Anyone else have a different experience?

A room mate is ok as long as it's verifiable via utility bills/lease etc..

NFCU does function on the honor system but...

They do audits and can ask you for proof later on in your relationship.

In fact, they've been known to freeze accounts until proof is provided if they have issues verifying your military affiliation.

The men in my family have been military forever.. My husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and I imagine further down the ancestral line.. So I got no worries. LOL

I do agree- do NOT try to game Navy's membership.. It's not only dishonorable but it could come back to bite one in the behind.
