I've been using it for years - on iOS as well as Android (switched phones last year). I only have a few bank accounts, a few credit cards, and a handful of student loans. The majority of my expenses are food and the loan payments - so not much of an issue with categorization. It's true that accounts may not update once in a while; but it usually fixes itself within a day or two. One of my credit cards was not supported by Mint when I originally started using it; but they eventually added it a few months later after I requested (and probably many others).

I mainly use Mint to track account balances - checking/saving/CC/student loans. For me, it's accurate. They also provide a free credit score/mini-report from Equifax which you can update once every three months (I'm pretty sure it's three months).

I'm not sure if there's an account limit? But if you have multiple accounts not supported by Mint, if you make tons of transactions to unpopular businesses (may set to uncategorized)... Mint may not be for you. You'll spend most of your time making adjustments to portray your expenses correctly. However, it is free and does it's job pretty well despite the previously stated quirks. I haven't missed any credit card or loan payments; partially due to the bill reminders and partially due to me being able to refer to past expenses paid through the app - to make sure I covered everything.

Their website has a great little feature for people to set up financial goals as well. You can estimate how long it'll take you to save X amount of money or to pay off a loan/CC if you were to pay X amount a month.

I haven't found a better mobile alternative.

I've had Mint for a year or so now, and they keep track of all my spending and when credit cards hit me with fees. I applied for my Slate on their recommendation as well and they provide me with my credit score.

How many of you use Mint? What do you like/dislike?

I decided to stop, because I could not get a realistic picture of my finances with it.

You can't add all credit accounts, so your credit utilization, DTI, and overall credit profile is not accurate.

Was using it until April. I liked the convenience but the way it automatically set up specific bill reminders and budget amount alerts was annoying. Would have preferred the option to set those myself from the start not have to go in and delete or change them. After the last update it was unusable. Wouldnt update a few accounts, lot of error messages, placed purchases in the wrong categories. Stopped using anything until I recently found Personal Capital Finance. Definitely prefer it.

I use mint, and log on daily for a couple minutes to categorize my previous days purchuses properly. The main feature I enjoy is the budget, one thing I have found is that at least for me using it on the computer gives more functionality than on my tablet or phone.

I love Mint and Mint Bills. It makes me sad though, because it chastises me when I overspend and it forces me to take a hard look at my debt on a regular basis. My favorite thing is being able to see where I'm spending my money at a glance.

I don't see the value. It doesn't actually auto-pay your bills for you, and it doesn't capture all your information

I have a spreadsheet that I update monthly to see where I'm at, and have a PLOC backstopping my checking account to avoid any oopses.

I use Mint mostly just to check the actual balances of my CCs instead of signing into each card individually. That's the main reason I use it on the Android app.

I do not pay attention to their FAKO score, which is every 90 days.

I use Personal Capital, it's a little more souped up version of Mint. You can track bank accounts, installment loans, investments and credit cards. And if you have over 100,000 in assets (of which I'm nowhere near!) it comes with your own personal advisor.

Late post but I use Mint and have for years it wasn't until I got Synchrony cards that it was an issue but now that they support those I'm back in it daily. I use Mint Bills (formerly Check) and have been for years. That is the ultimate snapshot and with all of the major cards and store cards now supported. I think I found myself falling back in love with both platforms. I like Mint though because for some of the banks I can't sync in Quicken I can export them from Mint and pull them in.
