Got one of their preapproval things in the mail...they always say no, so I just filled it out for giggles.

Approved for 16k.

As God as my witness, I have NO idea what I should do.

Terms and interest rate vary with how much of the loan I'd want to pursue.

Methinks I'm going to let this one pass, but my reconsider at the first of the month.

Hey I applied for an avant loan and they denied me. I have a TU score of 661. Do you have any baddies on your Credit report in the last two years? I only hav 1 from 20 months ago. I was a day late paying my car loan so I wound up with a 30 day late ding.

Just to clarify; you ended up with a 30 day late for being 1 day late? or was it 31 days late?

My understanding is that 1 day late should not be reported as 30 days late.

so did you take the avant loan? About 4 years ago I took out a small one for 1800 at 80% interest, then they offered to refinance the loan and give me 10k at 36%. I didnt do it, i would be paying nearly 400 dollars a month for years.

Nope. I can't justify paying higher interest on a fixed loan then I'm paying on various credit cards.

As my util went down, my scores raised, and I opened three BT cards earlier this month...and am paying ZERO interest for at least the next 12 months on those accounts.

Which BT cards are you using? I would love to get one for the same purpose as you, but am scared that I will get turned down due to BK from 2009/2010.

Unfortunately, you are probably correct. I'm using Chase Slate, Discover It, and one from a local credit union. I'm not certain, but I think that Chase AND Discover dislike seeing BK's.

Have you talked to a local credit union?
