Discover Debit Card - Discover Cashback Checking

My son is 5 weeks old and I wanted to open a Discover Cashback Checking for him.

I opened mine and I have to say I really like it especially the online account. Any reason why i dont see the cachback checking option any longer?

I think it's a good idea for a kid to have a bank account although 5 weeks old is a bit on the early side. When I was in elementary school I had a savings account. I didn't get a checkings account though until high school (and I'll never forget the big grin on my face when my dad gave me my debit card for the first time ever...ohh, the PLASTIC).

You can say its more like a savings account for my baby. I just need access to make checks, withdraws etc... Needs to be checking.

I have my cayman island account for the other stuff.

Possibly because 200 transactions per month at $0.10 bonus is a lot better than 100. Also if somebody's going to lose an account due to bonus abuse, it's best that it's baby's account. After all, he won't really mind.

Not sure whether this thread is serious or not... doubt any banks offer checking under age 13.
