They're absolutely fantastic...great rates on checking and savings...instant(and I mean instant) availability of deposits(via ATM or mobile app check deposits anyhow...ACH deposits usually take a day for pulls[from Alliant] and clear instantly once recognized from outside pushes)... Excellent customer service and friendly loan officers if you need anything besides deposit accounts. I'm not sure what else you need...I would highly recommend Alliant unless you absolutely need to make in-person cash deposits(I work mostly for tips, but most US Bank ATMs accept cash deposits and they all work for Alliant).

I'm in the middle of transitioning to Alliant as my secondary Hub. Being a member of 10 different financial institutions. I have to say Alliant is turning into my favorite outside of USAA.

I made a very large deposit through the check depositing phone app after the cut off time for that business day. Instead of just holding the entire amount like most banks do. They released $2500 minutes after I submitted the images of the check. The next day they released another $2500. I'm guessing the rest will be released today. So far I'm VERY impressed!

If my main hub pisses me off one more time. I'll ditch them completely and move everything to Alliant! Just for reference I am a member of Navy Fed, SFDCU,Penfed, Nasa, Ally along with 3 others besides Alliant.

Alliant gets two thumbs up!

My vantage scores are normally lower than fico as well. For reasons I'm unsure of, in the last month my vantage scores have taken off. The only major changes were adding two additional installment loans. One of which was a secured loan from Alliant.
My vantage scores are now higher than FICO. TU just updated today and jumped another 7 points to 799. Installment loans must weigh heavier on vantage scoring?

I didn't use any promo code when I applied for membership - checking & savings & I still got the $50 bonus credit the day after I made an atm deposit. In fact, I received the deposit today. Awesome! So I don't think it matters if the code was mentioned or not.. If you applied within the promo window you'll get the credit once the requirements are all met.
