Hi zeusta20, I recently leased a bmw and asked this question of my salesperson. Since I had a long relationship with them, they were offering me a car price at $500 over invoice. Pretty sweet deal if you ask anyone. When I asked about the Costco auto program, he mentioned that the negotiated rates were about $1,700 over invoice.

Not sure if this applies to other vehicle makes, but it wouldn't hurt to ask. I suggest doing research on various sites and ALWAYS negotiate the car from invoice up. Never use MSRP as a starting price.

Good luck!

I always heard that I should purchase a car through Costco. Does anyone think that the Costco Auto Program is a good place to purchase a car? a few years ago when I was shopping for a car, (never got one btw), I liked the costco auto program because it was no hassel. But as far as the prices go, I'm not sure if there's another possible way for me to beat the costco price. They don't even seem all that low.

My impression of the program is that one can do better, but that it's a fair price and you know you're not getting taken to the cleaners. But that's just from reading others talk about it. I have not used it personally.
