VW Jetta Lease... Is it good?

Someone good with leases able to help me out if this is good, do I need any other figures to check rather it's good?

2013 Jetta SEL Premium Hybrid (believe it's every option possible to VW)

MSRP $31k+ some change

Selling to me for $27,044.00

Money Factor is .00014

Residual is 48%

36 month lease

10k miles a year

$2k cash down

$311/month + tax

they also have 0% for 72 months

so that puts me right around $400 a month no? would actually probably be better off buying the thing if they are going to sell it for $27k??

That sounds like a really low residual for 36 months and 10k miles a year. Are there any other models you are interested in that might have a better residual for a lease? In this case, buying seems like a better option.

and LOVE Infiniti but text my sales guy and he said the offers are terrible until end of year for Hybrid.

AND I really need 40+ mpg... the Infiniti just won't deliver that.

I think it's Lexus CT 200h, Toyota Prius, Ford Fusion Hybrid, or Kia Optima Hybrid because we already own one Kia regular Optima and the lease is killer right now on the Hybrid but that's not going to deliver more than 35 mpg and I kind of feel like it won't get that because our current non hybrid is terrible... for my type of driving it's dreadful!

I think the Q50 will get 40+mpg if you baby the 360hp.

But yeah, since it just came out they aren't discounting them too much.

*yuck the ford drives terribly, the kia is a kia, and the prius is simply ugly haha.

If only money was no object. Get a sweet tesla.

But honestly, you won't notice a huge fuel savings unless you go plug in hybrid or full EV. Not much in the plug in hybrid line up yet...

Guess we are going to drive the Jetta... It has 2 year free maintenance so we have to at least look at it and then going to drive the Lexus CT also.

Nothing really happens during the first 2 years maintenance wise. Couple oil changes, tire rotations, and inspections. Even at the dealer only a few hundred bucks.

Update: Did not like the VW... drives nice and it's kind of fast but just not buffed out on the inside even with every option.

CT small... very similar to Toyota Prius C but little higher end feel.

Not sure how I feel about no option for touch screen though... it's like BMW iDrive.

Yes, the CT is a tiny car. That's how it gets the 40+ MPG.

Maybe you can negotiate a better deal. At least worth a test drive. It is a first year model, so there may be issues.

Such as:

"The main problem is the integration of the hybrid system. At times, the transition from all-electric mode (which operates at low speeds around town) to combined petrol and electric power could be generously described as abrupt. On several occasions during our time with the car, engagement of the petrol engine caused violent surging and vibrations through the cabin." -

What about the Sonata Hybrid? Hyundai has come A LONG WAY in the past 7 years....

I convinced my GF to purchase a 2013 Elantra Limited sedan last September. The car is fantastic. She averages 37.6 - 38.9MPG in summer months. Honda or Toyota couldn't come close to beating the value and warranty that Hyundai has now.

We currently have a 2013 Kia Optima EX and we are starting to seriously look at the 2013 Kia Optima Hybrid also.

I'm totally good with Hyundai also... they are pretty itentical, no?

I've got a Passat TDI and I get 50 on the highway if I keep my foot out of it.

May be worth looking into.
