My local credit union has since approved me to refi at 6.99%! so excited. I asked for a 30 month loan so I am not extending the term of the loan and will apply the difference between my new payment and old payment to the principal of the loan and pay it off faster. My credit score has vastly improved in the last 18 months (rehabbed defaulted student loans, lowered utili on cc's, got a mortgage).
