I purschased a new vehicle from them back in mid November of 2008. I have received my 4th statement/payment and have already made 3 on time but they are yet to update on my credit report. I emailed Ford 30 days ago asking for an update, they responded and stated that they will update my credit bureau account within 30 days but 30 days later I am yet to see anything. I know they have my correct information because the inquiry DOES show up but not the account. Is this normal practice at Ford? what should I do?

I could see two or three from purchase date esp if there were contract or MSO issues.

Check and see if they have the correct social, name and address.

If we assume purchase was done through a dealership:

Call your dealership ask to speak to your finance person and see if there were any problems with the contract.

Tell your concerns to the finance person who handled your deal.

And...have a cocktail

You have a contract, you have a payment history, you have made your payments on time and have records of that...

In the end, there is nothing you can do but keep bugging them. They are not required to report your loan to the bureau so there really is nothing you can do. Bug them every couple months. Don;t call every 2 weeks or 30 days. If you do, the CSR will see the previous phone call and just assume it is still in process. Once it does show up, then you can make sure it show correctly and that it is accurate.

When I had my loan with Ford Credit the loan showed up on my credit report in about 21 days from the date I signed the papers. This was back in 2003.

They may have changed the way they do things these days. I have no idea.

I wasn't a hawk back then, but Ford reported my loan while I was paying it. It has been paid off now for a couple of years but it always showed up and showed accurate. I don't know why you're seeing a delay other than what has been mentioned.

I've found Ford Credit incredibly easy to deal with though. I'm in the middle of GW'ing some late's and I have the feeling from correspondence from them that they're going to play ball!

I found Ford credit easy to deal with too, back several years ago when I went through financial issues with ARM resets, foreclosure threats etc. like many people do now. Ford allowed us to reschudule our payments to the end of the loan several times for a small fee without affecting our on-time payment history on our credit reports.

Can't help you why it is not appearing yet.

dispute it on all three of your reports saying that it is showing an incorrect balance or something that should get them to move.

I would not call the Dealership.. I would go to the dealership yourself if you live close enough and ask to speak to the Finance Director. Explain the situation and they can usually just pick up the phone and talk to Ford and get something resolved while you are there.

If not resolved you will have an answer of some sort. I find it is harder to put something on the "back burner" if the person is sitting in front of you lol .....plus its just good customer service/relations to handle the problem right there.

You never know maybe there were some problems with your deal and there was a delay of some sort in getting all of the paperwork back and forth from Ford and the Dealer .... I would definitely go to the dealer in person.

Good luck!

I tried speaking with the finance manager and I was told that it just takes a while but lets get real, does it really take 4 months to do this. I even emailed Ford Credit directly, they apologized and said that they would send an update but even 30 days later there is no sign of the account, I just dont get it. I know they have my correct information because when they pulled my credit, I got an inquiry alert the next freaking day but yet they cant seem to report the account, whats their deal?
