this response is a little misleading--- many dealers will run your credit to shop your rate. In many places (like West coast) experian is widely used especially by credit unions (CUDL)-- Hyundai Finance their captive lender bases their rates on Transunion scores and data. Hope this clarifies

Here is my experience with Hyundai: I was told that HMF pulls Transunion, but that was not the case with me. Once the dealer submitted my app to HMF (7/06/15), they pulled my Equifax, which I had to unfreeze. A few days later, they pulled my TU. A day after that, they pulled my EX. It was the weirdest thing. I was finally approved and received my account number last Friday. YMMV, all of my Fico 08 Auto scores were low to mid 650's. Hope that helps. Good luck.

I went to two different Hyundai dealers while trying to get the best deal available. I ended up doing apps at both (only because I thought I had the best deal at Dealer A but Dealer B said they could beat it and did). Dealer A showed me TU which also happened to be my lowest score of 718 and Dealer B showed me Experian. In either circumstance I was approved for the top rate.

I am ABSOLUTELY in LOVE with my 2015 Sonata 2.0T!!! The polish, fit and finish, along with a list of features as long as my TWO arms, have made me a very HAPPY man. I get all the features of vehicles costing TWICE as much! The styling is more mature and upscale, less clownish in my opinion. The handling and power do what I need them to do and then some. It just feels much more substantial and solid. If you can hang on til December, you won't be disappointed......

Old I am too. I am planning to buy a crossover and I want all the features but I realistically spend an hour a day in the car at most and much of that is sitting in my car when I get somewhere or home while I gather my things and decide to get out. I've had my car for 9 years and it's been awesome, zero problems but its starting to show its age this last year and I suspect I'll have to start replacing things soon. I have a garage so I'm safe from the street parking issue but I too am looking at Hyundai because I simply can't justify the premium of a luxury brand given how little I drive. I mean that's partly me talking myself out of it since I rarely allow myself to be dollar smart and buy a cheaper option.

To the OP question. I don't know, but those of you saying you had multiple pulls, do they specifically say Hyundai MF or something or are the pulls from other creditors the dealer is shopping around for? It doesn't really matter what they pull because my scores across all 3 are consistently in the same brackets.

It was HMF on all three. I suspect it may have been because of the fraud alerts I had on all as well.

I ultimately was approved for a 2015 Sonata Limited 2.0T in white. My rate turned out to be 1.128% for a 48 month lease. My first NEW car!!! I've always bought used.

That's the car I'm looking to buy in December. I was looking at CPO Infinitis, but came across the Sonata with the same features for half the price. The wait is killing me.

Having owned both Infiniti and Hyundai i will caution you that comparing the two is apples and oranges. If you are shopping just features fine but if you are looking at the overall driving experience the Hyundai won't compare.

Luxury cars would be more of a liabilty than an asset at this point in my life. I might drive a combined 2 hours a week and live in a place with extremely high insurance rates in addition to parking on the street. It finally came down to dollars and cents-I simply don't drive enough to justify the cost of a car that will sit 98% of the time. I think this means I'm officially old

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that the Hyundai is not a nice car. We had a Santa Fe Limited and it was very nice. We looked hard at the Sonata when we bought DW's Infiniti. In the end we got a fully loaded G37 for $33k. The deal was right, the rate was right (0.9%). She only drives 8k miles a year so she' ll have it for 10 years. I, on the other hand, drive 35k miles a year and was shopping hybrids before the company let me go to Lexus and pick out my RX at no cost to me.
