i am trying to talk my wife into a RAV4 Hybrid limited instead of an BMW SAV she's always dreamed of having. She test drove the RAV and liked it but hasn't test driven a BMW SAV. Hope I'm saying that right SAV vice SUV. Anyone have any experience with the BMW X1? How does it drive? My thought is with gas inching up and the hybrid holding between 31 and 33 mpg, seems like it would make sense. i guess i should have her at least test drive the BMW to see any potential differences. Any other high residual SUV's out there anyone would recommend? Thanks for any suggestions!

Since it is a "dream car" it will be more emotional and less pragmatic. The only way she won't be upset with the Rav 4, and still hope for her dream car one day, is if she comes to the realization that it is the right car for her. Maybe have her list the pros and cons of each, instead of you trying to influence her, so that she can come up with the best choice.

I think it goes without saying that she should def test drive both before making a decision.

You can certainly make your case for choosing one over the other.

However, the car she drives is HER choice, just as what you drive is YOUR choice. I'm sure you wouldn't want her pressuring you into a car you didn't want.
