Hubby & I Approved for MBFS !!

Little Backstory: I filed bankrupcty I was in over my head for nearly $600,000 in unsecured debts due to new business venture. I was discharged October 2014. Ive been trying to rebuild and putting disputes in. Well My husband on the other hand has a Fico score of 800+!!! Well our lease was up. We leased a 2014 Mercedes GL450.. beautiful truck but just too big for me. Well that was only a 24 month lease... I told my husband that I would like to be on the lease to rebuild my credit. The finance manager said no problem. Well tommorow Im picking up my brand new 2016 Mercedes S550 coupe.. I m very excited.. we put nothing down only first payment, tax and dmv..Car is absolutely loaded price tag before tax was $131,500.. big step from the gl.. 24 month lease again and my payments are just under $2407.00.. I cant wait for this to report on my credit.

Congrats on the new car.

I couldn't sleep at night with a $2407 car lease payment while there are kids going to bed without enough to eat at night. But it's your money and you have every right to enjoy it as you like. I bet it's really nice to drive!

Ahhhhh, the joys of a regular Joe point A to point B purpose automobile . Congrats, that is a fine car to say the least.

Now I am curious and if you don't want to share I'll respect that. Generally what do you and your husband do for a living? Your car payment is my mortgage.

Hello All, Well yes I know there a straving children but I can afford the payment. we own a car wash on long island. He has a maserati quattorporte which the lease is up. because now that we have two cars we need a truck. I think he will trade the maserati in and look for the new escalade. I love them . but hate driving something big lol

It wasn't 100% clear: Are you saying that the credit approval was based on your husbands score and income/debt alone?
You didn't mention your score, however I find it unusual that they would agreee to put you on the note.
In most forms of consumer lending, the credit qualification is based on the LOWEST mid-score, which would be yours.
In other words the terms are based on those of the highest risk applicant, you can;t simply "tag along" with a better qulaified appliacnt and receive the same benefits.
I would double-check the note to see if indeed the finance manager even put you on the note.
Pls explain.

That is not accurate. While it is the standard for mortgages it is not with other lending types. With auto loans (and recreational loans, boats, etc) it is taken off of the higher score. Also, keep in mind that auto loans are not normally done on triple pulls, just single pulls. o

I know somewhat old thread but I got nosy in the auto loan world. Im surprised you are paying that much for the s class. I also just purchased one. 2016 loaded, its a sedan not a coupe so my sticker was 123k vs yours of 131k, but same deal, first month's payment, taxes, dmv fees etc down, and my payment is only 1468 a month. does the extra 8k really add that much more per month? Still Congrats. I know you will love it. I almost like it as much as my Bentley.

I leased it for only 24 months 15,000 miles, no money down that was tier 1 . the lease risiudals arent as great as the sedan..
