I was REALLY hoping Honda would pull TU, but for anyone looking in the North or South Dakota area, they pulled Equifax. I wish Equifax would dry up and blow away for good.

No denial, but not instant approval. I filled out prequal for a lease on an Acura yesterday. Hopeful for a response today. Just wanted to put the details out there for anyone searching Acura/Honda info in the Dakotas.

Hopefully you are approved. But remember your local Acura dealer will have several other lenders that may be able to approve you for the lease.

+1. I'm hoping for an approval for ya as well...Acura makes a fine ride. Like @settleordelete mentioned, the dealer has a lot of other options even if the captive doesn't bite. Please do report back and let us know when you'll be taking delivery of your new car.

Thank you. I still can’t get anything to pull up on the prequal link. Wife talked to the closest dealer today and he said he doesn’t see it in their system so it either got sent somewhere else or it’s in computer limbo. I’m not 100% sure I’ll take another chance on HP Equifax because it is my lowest score by far and I’m not sure they are going by regular FICO or one of the auto scores because I had figured they would use TU.

We just sent some pics of trade to dealer so if I pull the trigger again I’ll definitely update!

Acura never did find that application and I just let it go. We were too far upside down on trade to go in and mess with having another credit pull. I have been searching, though, and can't find Honda or Acura financing tiers. My Equifax score is much better now but we are under contract on a house so I don't want to have a credit pull or new loan on my account during the mortgage process. I still have an old negative auto account on Equifax that should drop off in July so I'll wait until that happens to see what it bumps my auto score to. Wife is still set on the MDX lease. Anyone out there know what Honda/Acura tiers are?

It's been a while, but I doubt things have changed too much. I got 0.9% on mine (purchase, not lease) through Acura with scores right around 700 and revolving utilization way up there at the time with otherwise clean reports. I'd definitely wait until you have keys in hand on the mortgage before trying again.

Definitely waiting for mortgage to close first! Do you know what score they used? I had a dealership in Ohio tell me they'd use TU but he couldn't tell me which one.
