I applied for a Capital One Auto Loan and was approved for $50,000.....The truck I have been looking at getting is $55,000

Does capital one go above what you pre-qualified for? Just curious before I call

Also, AFTER I applied, I noticed the dealers I have been looking at are not on the auto navigator website. Would they still accept the loan?

Lastly, How does Inquires hurt your credit? If I apply elsewhere, how negative is that against me?

If you just filled out the prequal for Navigator, it is a SP and will not affect your scores at at.

I was approved for $75k so I know $50k is not the ceiling.

Generally, I believe that they will go over for tags, taxes, etc.

A lot will depend on how good the car deal is. This will affect your APR.

Of course, your down payment is not included in the $50k, so if you can put down the $5k, you should be fine.

Your $50k limit gives you great ammo to negotiate a better deal on the truck!
