Search for FCRA attorney's in your area.

I had an issue similar with Capital One and met with one. He said I didn't have a case - that was the end of it.

But many of these attorneys will offer a free consultation and advise if you have a cut/dry case. If you do, they will do it for free - because the law states that the offender will pay their fees - so, you get $1000.00 and the attorney gets paid.

Has anyone here been through this process? Any idea of costs and timelines? Ocwen (to which Bank of America sold my husband's mortgage *just* after the discharge), after 2 disputes, refuses to stop reporting the new loan AND they've added a second reporting... a second mortgage... but only changed it to show as current.

My husband has BOA mortgage showing correctly, $0 balance, IIB.

Then Ocwen reports the same mortgage. $0 balance, IIB.

AND a $12K second mortgage with full balance reporting, shows as current but NOT included in BK7.
These two additional lines should not be reporting AT ALL, correct?
