When I pulled my reports from annualcreditreport.com, I had to pay for them because it was the 2nd time that I was pulling them. Also, I failed to answer all the security questions online and had to wait for the Equifax report to me mailed to me. If you manage to get all three of the reports, you will need to provide the report reference number that is printed on each of the reports. After I had all three reports, I called each of the credit reporting agencies and they handled my requests over the phone. The sent me confirmations via email.

Yes...handling disputes/dispute comments are well documented in this forum. Just do a search.

My Chap 7 got dismissed 5/2014 and since then I applied for Cap 1 secured and QS and got those. I didn't know until I got to this forum that I should have checked my credit reports before I did that. Anyway it's been a year since I pulled them from annual credit report.com so I did it that way. I'm waiting for them to send them to me via mail so I don't have them yet. I was browsing the forums and I came across the following:

Why You Shouldn't Dispute via annualcreditreport.com:
http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/General-Credit-Topics/Why-you-shouldn-t-dispute-via-annualcreditreport-com/m-p/8826?query.id=12006

So...? I'm confused. I need to look at the reports but I shouldn't use the free one? So does that mean I need to go to the products (http://www.myfico.com/Products/Products.aspx) and pay $59.85 to look at them? I mean how do they (CRAs) know how I'm disputing them?

My mindset: I only need to make sure everything is reporting correctly after my bankruptcy and I don't care if I have the ability to check my scores monthly during my rebuild phase. I figure once a year is plenty so I was just got to use the annual credit report.com next year to make sure progress is showing.

Do I have the wrong mindset? Do I NEED to pay the $59.85 for the reports to dispute anything and not have a +15 wait from the annual credit report.com source?

Do I NEED a subscription at $14.95 a month to monitor my report score monthly? <--- This I have more questions on like: the $14.95 plan only does 1 CRA... Is that normal? Do I need 3 subscriptions to monitor all 3 monthly?... Seems odd that one company can't do all 3 the "right way"

You need to get your credit reports directly from the credit reporting agencies as your dispute action will require a reference number that you will find on each of the reports. If you try to dispute anything based on a report from any other source, the credit reporting agencies will simply tell you that they did not issue that report. It is quite straightforward so what exactly is causing your confusion?

I had already pulled my free credit reports from annualcreditreport to give to my lawyer so what I did was went to each individual agency's website and started a dispute. Once you start a dispute you can see your report online and dispute each item. So I started that last week to make sure they each had a zero balance and IIB. But I also signed up for Eliminate ID Theft because it was only 17.95 for both my wife and I. I did that to give myself some peace of mind knowing I could pull all 3 reports daily and make sure everything was correct.
