Cap1 Venture

Hello - I am 10 mos past BK discharge and I have a Cap1 QS and Plat with 1300 limits on each. What are my chances of getting the Venture card? My scores should be located in my signature.

I would wait until 1 year post d/c. You may still get approved now though, YMMV as always

Have you checked the prequalify page? I got mine (and my wife got hers) because we saw we were prequal'd for it. If it's there, go for it. If not, well up to you. Remember it's a hit on each bureau when you apply with them. Also, if you are prequal, go fo the QS Visa as well. Uses the same pulls if you apply for both on the same day.

Yeah, I would hit up the pre-qual link as well. I got my Venture through that and I was approved for the 10k/ lowest apr, although my BK is over 5 years out and I had been rebuilding with them for a few years.

The pre-qual process hasn't changed.. What is it that you are looking for?

I just applied and I can't believe Cap 1 Venture One was approved for me. I had Ch 13 BK discharged in September. I got the Cap1 Qucksilver right away and they gave me a $500 limit. I just applied for the Cap1 Venture One they approved me for a 10k CL. I'm pretty excited. I know it takes time to get my credit score back up from BK but I really want to get a new car this Spring and want to see if I can get my score to 680 by then. I doubt it but I have to try. The 10k CL will help. This is just as I got a letter from my credit union I just joined that they were denying me a credit card because of my BK.

Also is the rebuild for a BK7 the same as a BK13?

Yes I did the prequalify. I did not want the hard hit if I didn't think I was going to get it.

I am definitely no expert but I think from what I picked up from these forums is that a rebuild from ch7 and ch13 is the same. But it seems you shouldn't start until after the discharge.

Yeah it's the same rebuilding process regardless of 7 or 13. Both wait until discharge to get busy.
