Removing Comments from Accounts

What is the best method to get comments removed from accounts on the credit reports? (Customer disputes, reinvestigation, etc)

I had the most success calling in. Tried to submit online disputes and they still didn't fix them.

Scupra, Did your score go down at all after having removing them. I have several dispute comments after battling to fix the CR after discharge and figured I better start getting them removed, just afraid of a big score drop.

My score did not drop at all suprisingly. My DW's score dropped about 5 points when she had a remark removed.

Right. That's what had me thinking about it. Preparing for one in the next year, so I figured I should get a jump start on it. Just when you think you can take a break.........

You know it ! Always a work in progress. I actually took a long break from it all due to an illness in the family and just getting back into it. Still have a few issues out there that I need to clean up, not looking forward to it, but it all seems to be in a much better position than this time last year. I was thinking of you last week when I pushed the button on the Discover app. Was denied last year, was shocked they just approved. I am done. That is it on cards. Have you had any luck with them?

Just curious as to why your score would go Down by having a comment removed.

I have been trying to get a comment that i disagree after dispute? Removed from my KOHLS acct. The whole thing was over my credit limit? And since then i have not been able to get a cli.
The funny thing is I do not disagree, lol

Is it best to call Kohls or to dispute w/ cra?

While holding my grudge and being mad at Discover I got in with Chase. So now I have just forgotten Discover

When a TL has remarks on it sometimes it doesn't count towards scoring. So when you get the remark removed sometimes it can hurt your score. I would call the CRA and tell them you need the remarks removed. Good luck!

Would it be beneficial to remove the remarks on the accounts that I disputed from my bk7? They say things like "account dispute by consumer" "reinvestigation in progress" and "account included in bankruptcy" just to name a few.

Well, it depends Those are the remarks I needed to get removed. It was a requirement in my case to close on the home though. I would just get rid of them now so you are looking at an accurate report all the time.

Update....

I called a couple of days ago to Kohls ,talked to their credit dept. The guy was super nice... i explained my issue on my CR with the comment section... he pulled it up and said that was stupid.... i explained i have been an excellent customer. . No lates, etc... in almost 3 yrs , yet only 1 cli ... he told me he would take care of the comment and remove it.

Today i though i would try their LUV button... lo and behold... it said congratulations. ... $500 cli .. which doubled my cl to $1,000 , not alot i know but i might call and ask for more....

Just pays to be persistent and keep trying.... and always keep an eye on your CR... didnt even know that comment was there

We burned Chase in BK, so won't be trying for them anytime soon.
