Just checked Pacer and saw that I was discharged today!!! Now I can begin rebuilding. Feels like I've been waiting on this day forever...

I'm so excited. Got my BK Discharge paperwork in the mail today. Checked the Cap One prequal site and it finally said I had offers. Decided to pull the trigger and I was approved. I was expecting a $300 limit but I was actually given 1,000. I'm over the moon ecstatic. Rebuilding here I come. It also says I was preapproved for the Quicksilver. Should I app for that one as well?

Congratulations on your discharge. I would have applied for the QS1 as well. That would give you two decent cards to start rebuilding.

Head on over the the 2 years to 700 thread. That has a lot of good information on it.

Congrats on your Cap One approval. I'm starting to believe folks are getting in with Cap One if they were not burned in their BK. Did you include Cap One in your BK?

Hi guys, I am new to the forum. Congrats on the discharge! I have a question and was wondering if anyone knows the answer to this. I had to declare BK (chapter 7) back in 2008 due to my business going insolvent. I had never missed a payment in my life until the BK (I had a credit score around 800 at that time). It's 8 years later now and my score is back up 720. So when my BK drops off, will my score go back to being around 800? Or do I have to continue to build my credit back up? Thanks!

I don't believe I did. At least not one that I directly applied for. I had an Orchard Bank card and I think they were taken over by Cap One.

I applied for the QS and was denied. Tried for Barclays Rewards and was denied. I was able to secure an acct with NFCU so I think I'll quit while I'm ahead. Credit Karma has my scores at 611 and 612. I know I need to get real Ficos and I will in another day or so. I just find it funny because before the discharge. I was at 465 and 464, lol...
