I just got approved for the Chase Amazon Visa Signature 15 months post-BK, so I wanted to do a rebuild update:

IIB: Amex, BofA, Comenity, Citibank, Chase, DSNB, Synchrony, WFB.

November '15

BK7 Discharged

May '16

Credit One approved, $400 SL-Now Closed

June '16

Capital One Platinum approved, $3000 SL, now a QS at $3800

July '16

Discover it approved, $1000 SL, now at $3300

Victoria's Secret approved, $500 SL via Shopping Cart Trick, now at $800

NFL Extra Points approved, $3500 SL, now at $4500

November '16

jetBlue Plus approved, $4000 SL

December '16

Closed Credit One

Quicksilver approved $10000 SL

2/15/17- Apped for Chase Amazon Visa Signature, received 30-day review

2/21/17- Received denial letter in mail

2/22/17- Called for recon, approved $500 SL

My rebuild has been a little more fast and furious than I intended, but I am happy with the results. Later this year, I plan to combine the two QS, and close NFL Extra Points and roll balance onto the jetBlue Plus to pare down my wallet.

Yes, it does, geemillz! It looks like you've done some work of your own. Nice cards and limits in your signature. Was BoA IIB for you? I want to get back in with them someday, and I've heard the secured route is a good way to go. Wasn't sure how long I have to wait.

Great job getting in with Chase.... Do you recal which CRA they pulled? Did you burn them in the BK from 2015? I was dicharged a month prior to you and was thinking of taking a chance on them again....

Hi, KJT. The score on my denial letter, 687, matches my current EX Bankcard 8 score. Yes, they were IIB discharged Nov '15. I got approved after recon. It is possible! Hope it works out for you.☺

OK, so now I am inspired to try Chase Amazon myself. I am 14 months post filing, 9 months post discharge. My TU score is unknown at this time but I know it's close to 700 and I have I think 3 or 4 inquiries. I waited some time to file (years) after knowing things were going south (divorce) so my bads aren't that recent and for whatever reason some of them aren't reporting. I have a Quicksilver WEMC ($13,800), a Discover IT ($4K), a Blispay ($4K) and a couple store cards with nothing on them. Utilization under 10%.

Any thoughts on my chances of swaying the recon gods to go my way on this one?

Hi kberly! They asked me to explain the events leading to my BK. I just told them what happened. I had spotless payment history prior to bk so I think that helped. Please let us know how it turns out Like Bella Chase just asked me a bunch of questions. I called in and said, "my application was turned down for BK and I would like to request a reconsideration" just so I could get the BK out of the way. Be very nice and make sure to touch on what you have done to prevent a future BK. Good luck!

I'm working on building up my nerve and will let y'all know when I take the plunge, good or bad. I had great credit prior to the divorce credit dominoes and can explain it all to a sympathetic soul. Didn't burn Chase either so I feel good about all that.
