However, one loan from a private lender which has been sold to NCO for collection is not consolidated and has a current a balance of 75k, which includes a monstrosity of fees (25k+). The original loan was 50k, and some of the money was used to pay medical bills. Either way, I am looking to get this loan resolved, I have looked at Bankruptcy (they said NO to school loans), and tried to settle with NCO (they are asking for 55k paid in full or 1k/mth), I can not afford either.

Has any one ever dealt with NCO and settled or included a loan like this in Bankruptcy and had it discharged?

I am cleaning up the rest of my credit but if I can't get this to go away, I am in trouble (I think!)...

PS.

I have dealt with NCO. A DV letter has worked wonders for me. They never respond and I never hear from them again.

If it was me, I would -

1. Call PNC and make payment arrangements with them. Chances are if you sent them money, they'd accept it. IF NOT -

2. DV NCO. You need to have proof that they legally own the debt.

3. Decide ahead of time what you can afford to pay. Do you get paid every two weeks? If you do, send them money every two weeks. If you get paid once a month, then send them money once a month. Receiving money every two weeks makes creditors happier.

4. No matter what, always send money consistently.

I have medical bills. I go through the same thing every month. I pay what I can (a set amount that I determined). They send me to collections, but the original company ALWAYS accepts my phone or my online payments. Collections tries to strong arm me into paying greater amounts of money faster. I only have x amount of money. Harassing me is not going to change that. I NEVER talk to the collection agencies. EVER. If they send me a collection letter (NCO has), I DV them. Never hear from them again.
