Collection account during CHP13 HELP, NEED ADVICE*

Hello Fico Family,

Okay. I am heated right now am I am not thinking straight because I am "highly" furious. So a long story short with my spouse, her cellphone account(in my name) was sent to collections all because she refused to pay due to a disagreement she had with some charges and did NOT let me know until I got a collections letter. So I immediately contacted the agency and set up a payment arrangement BEFORE it they sent it to my credit report. So all is fine. 2 months go back and the last payment was supposed to come out late Sept. Well fast forward to today. I see they sent my account to collections on my credit report. So I am furious and start looking for the payment and it never came out. So it is possible funds were moved around because my family was effected by not one hurricane but "2"(Florence and Michael). So I am like I did not get NO phone call. NO letter. NO notification saying the payment declined. So I came them and speak with the supervisor. He stated they tried calling and they did not have my phone number on file. I said that is STRAIGHT BS because I called on "my" to set up the payment arrangment and them being a debt collector they VERIFY the best number to reach me which I gave to the rep. But they don't have it on file. I told him to pull the call...he didn't care. So I let him know making the payment is NOT an issue but I need it removed from my credit report. He says they do not do a pay to delete but what they do is send it to the credit agencies as paid and then tmobile would pull it back in 60 days and then the collection would be removed from my report. ALL OF THAT SOUNDS LIKE BS to get me to pay. So I ask for that in writing or email and he said he would not do that. So I hung up. Because I am so fn furious. At my spouse, at that agency, and at this stupid situation.

Okay...so now that I vented. Lets stick with the facts. Facts are, pay 2 deletes are not mandatory. I am fully aware of that. I just can't think straight right now. Any suggestions of "what would you do" if you were in this situation?

I'd call No-Mobile. Only because they suck in my parts. LOL! Switched to Verizon. Anyway. Call T-Mobile and explain you were affected by the hurricanes. You had no cell service nor internet service. They should have some heart in this matter. And yes they both passed within 100 miles from me. But no damage. In your post you didnt put an amount. Call them. Not the CA. Maybe the trustee can help too.

Thank you for responding FireMedic. The amount is a measly 139.00. I could pay that no problem. My problem is removing the collections account from my credit report. It seems I am screwed in more ways then way. Even if I was to pay it. It would just show "paid" but still be on my report. I can't win or losing, I tell ya.

Oh and btw, I switched to Verizon as well ;-)

Dont throw in the towel yet. Call T-Mobile and explain the situation. How can I pay a bill without electricity, cell service and internet, and no roads were open to get to a store due to floods. You want me to fly? They got to forgive it and take the payment. You live in a natural disater declared area.

I'd tweet them on Twitter if you have it. They dont want other customers to see tweets like that. They'll jump.

Well unfortunately the original payment arrangement was set up with the CA and not T-Mobile.

I think you made a big mistake even talking to them and paying them. This is something that your lawyer should have handled and added it to your BK. I am pretty darn sure they can't add a collection to your report while you are in an active BK.

Yup I am pretty sure the trustee is going to want all the money you paid them, and enforce the stay in place which will make the collection go bye bye.

If you werent in the midst of a BK.. I would say pay TMO, not the CA, and Tmo will recall the debt and it is treated like a PFD..but they will not put it in writing... That said.. Your in a BK you need to talk to your lawyer...
