Can you get a credit card without applying for it?

I received a credit card in the mail last week and I never applied for it. It’s Indigo and has a $300 CL. I have not activated it because I don’t want credit cards with such small limits.
This isn’t sitting well with me. Is it possible for a credit card company to send a credit card without you applying?
My bankruptcy was discharged 10/2018

Yes they can. They SP'ed you and hoping you'll become a customer. Back in the early 80's. Most banks sent cards without a credit limit. You activated it and then the HP and CL would be revealed. But then identity theft started and that ended. Cap1 was always doing it to me.

Thanks for the reassurance. I’m hoping that’s what happened and that someone isn’t trying to get a cc in my name and this one got sent to me on accident.

And hopefully, OP, you don't accept this predatory card unless you need the credit card to help boost your FICO score and this is on your only option - meaning secured cards or a card with better terms/more reputable company is not available.

If it's the no annual fee version like I was offered, and you need another card for AZEO purposes, go ahead and activate it. I've had mine for a couple of months now and I have no complaints. They won't HP your credit report either. I will warn you ahead of time that the credit line supposedly will never go above the initial $300 FWIW.

Yes it is possible. The same thing happened to me. Really, I feel very lucky because it is unsecured. It has horrible rates but it is a start from having nothing at all. !!!
