I would call them, talk to someone in their Bankruptcy department and ask them.
I would probably go as far as to say they don’t really care about $2,000 and probably don’t feel particularly comfortable loaning to you again unless you’ve really built up your score since your discharge.
Wouldn’t hurt to call and ask but I doubt it.

Discharged 7/24/18, and as of 1/9/19 my scores are EQ648, TU638 and EX622. But I am not thinking on applying any soon, just thinking out loud if I can consider them in the future with my build or move on with other CCs.

You might have a shot of applying without paying them back, those scores are decent. The BK is a bit too recent for any good limit though.

I am not sure if I am ready to push my luck yet, and not sure sure if there is any success stories after paying them back either. But I really want to do most of my business with CUs, I do have an a savings account with USAA but I don't think they are BK friendly as well.
Does it matter if its secured or unsecured?, the reason I am asking is because my wife deposited 500 to her savings and applied for the secured version, the next day she was accepted. Do you think if I do the same and apply for the secured first would
that matter to them as long as it's a secured card?

I’m discharging about $18k in credit card debt with USAA. If you didn’t discharge anything with them, they’re generally BK friendly. If you did, they won’t let you open any new accounts with them in any form for seven years.

I am hoping they change it in the future ( they are working on something ).
I have what I need for now and maybe for a long time, but i would love to clear my mind knowing my chances moving forward instead appling for cards i may regret in the future.

Well I am happy to hear that.
I was able to get a secured credit card with SDFCU right before my discharge also I got a secured with Affinity CU with out any credit check and both cards with very low interest around 12%.
I burned most of the major CCs, and what I learned from my past experience is to cut as many as useless ones with toys limits. My only options at the moment is few CUs with high SL will be my dream moving forward with this game, and to win it you just have to play it right. I may be wrong but this is how I am thinking by putting the puzzle pieces together.

I’ve never banked with Navy Federal, but I bank with USAA. However, at the moment I’m banking with a local credit union evacuee my attorney advised me to not bank with the same bank I’m burning because they could file a motion with the court to freeze the account during the BK, so I’m using a local CU at the moment.
I’ll go back to USAA after the BK.

I may give it a try with USAA. I forget to mention that at some point I did have an offer from them to apply for their rewards but when I did they counter offer to a secured one, never followed through due to it can't unsecured plus it has an AF. That was right after my discharge with my low scores.

Their secured cards are generally in the form of a CD that you get back after a certain amount of time if you don’t default.
I say it’s worth a shot. I got my first credit card from them when I was 18 and had no credit. They gave me a $300 card at 12%.

Talking with them, they don’t give anyone who discharged with them a new account for at least 7 years according to employees of them in their forums.
As for if you didn’t burn them, I’d imagine it would probably take a year or so after getting a discharge at least. I couldn’t get a limit of more than $1,000 until my score was in the high 700s. I eventually got two $9,000 cards with them which were maxed out and are both getting discharged. My score was 780 before my credit got really bad.
