I have 0 balances on my 3 cards currently, ( Have 1 card report 5 bucks. Your losing points with all 0 balance on 3 cards) and still show that I cannot pre-qualify for any credit cards. I decided to check my credit report on Credit Karma, and it shows Comenity Capital has not updated 5 store cards I had with them (all super low limits) that were IIB. They show on Equifax currently as charged off with July 2018 dates, and do not mention Included in Bamkruptcy anywhere. They also say “missed 6 payments” because they all reported well after my filing and discharge date.

I’ve reached out via the Equifax dispute and have not had resolution. I also called Comenity two days ago who put me on hold and came back and said “we spoke to our Bankruptcy Department and they will update those accounts ASAP”. Two days later, I still haven’t seen or been made aware that the Comenity accounts are reporting correctly. They may have reported it. Some CRA's do updates also. Dont know when. But I had a balance change on my card. Got the alert and took 3 days for the score change. It isnt always in a couple days.

Is there any other way to get Comenity to properly report the accounts as IIB? I’m assuming this is why Capital one keeps denying me even a secured card (isn’t Comenity Capital under the Capital One umbrella now?) No. Google "Comenity Capital" top listing is its under the same Comenity Bank.

If you’ve made it this far...thank you! My goal is to do away with the sub-prime cards and only have a few CC’s reporting.

If it doesnt doesnt change soon. Dispute it for incorrect reporting and IIB. Also let them know there were no lates due to DC.

I’m sorry, I wasn’t very clear. I do charge against the cards monthly, but I pay off before the statement cuts. I will keeping a small balance on at least one as you've suggested

As far as the reporting goes, I have disputed the verbiage on Equifax in an online report (did that a few days back). I stated that my discharge date was 2/9/18, and they should not be reporting “6 missed payments” and a last reported date as 7/28/18.

I called Comenity Capital bank directly and spoke to someone in customer service who said she spoke to their Bankruptcy department and they would update the accounta ASAP to IIB. I am still unsure as to if she really spoke to a “bankruptcy department”.

I did also call Capital one who forwarded me to a “recovery department”. They stated they could only tell me that a few of my accounts had been charged off to a credit collection agency a month before my Bankruptcy filing/discharge. She said the Comenity Capital accounts she can see (because Capital One does handle some Comenity card accounts such as Maurice’s store card) show as sold/charged off. She said I should contact the collection agency to ensure they have updated the information accurately to Equifax. I can’t imagine that would be the answer though because my equifax report doesn’t show the collection agency’s name, it only shows “ComenityCapital/Wayfair”.....etc. I will reach out though just in case that is the missing link

I just am very surprised that I am now a year and a month post discharge and I still can’t get a Capital one SECURED card due to “to many prior Capital One obligations” or something of the like.
