My BK 7 journey.... Again...

Hello everyone! I am back again to share my BK story. For now the 2nd time filing.

First off I wanna say I appreciate everyone on this board. I learned a lot, and still learning. I remember when I filed back in NOV 2012 and everyone was amazing. Especially Scupra, I think posts still?

So, long story short, gone through some crazy times with jobs and finances over the last 8+ years and. Had some bad luck but also made a few bad credit and finance decisions as well. A marriage later and here I am. Lol. My case just got filed today (2/18/2021) and I now have my case number.

Question, I don't remember the timing other then it was about 3 months from file to discharge and like 30-40 days after filing for the 341 meeting. What's the schedule on timing like these days? Also once your case was filed when did everyone's CR start updating to showing INcluded in BK? Was that after you file, or after 341 meeting or only after discharge?

the good news is did recently get in with NFCU, my grandfather was a WW2 Vet, and I have a checking and savings account with them. Just got signed up a few days ago. I hope to get more products with them once everything discharges. Thank you again and any advice to share or I can share will be helpful. Thanks!!

Sorry to hear about the unfortunate events but you're on track to make it better already. Only real big negative is you will have 2 Bk's showing on reports for the next 2 years roughly.I am not sure how that will affect the rebuild but I am sure other's can chime in on that.

The 341 is usually about 30 days out from filing date just depends,then after that date creditors have 60 days to object discharge then after that you should get your discharge a few days later maybe weeks depends on how fast the court goes.

Cr's vary in updating when I filed most my stuff updated within about 2 weeks and a lot of it got deleted lucky me.

Thank you! Ya, so until next November I will have 2 showing so I don't know how that will effect it. So after a few weeks of you filing, your credit reports started showing IIB or they just deleted the trade line? Like companies or CA or both?

Yes within a few weeks they showed Iib and some collections were just deleted from my report. The only derogstories I currently have is my student loans and my bankruptcy everything else is new accounts in good standing.

is next November 10 years from last bk? I know a couple agencies take it off a little early.

Well that was fast! Just got an alert, since I subscribe to the monthly fico here, and EX is already added/reporting the new BK as of today (2/18/21 file date)

Question is, will my trade lines (that are IIB) start updating as that or can I Go in there now that this is showing and start making sure they show IIB? Or should I wait a week or so to see if the companies will start sending updates to the CB to show IIB. Thanks y'all!

oh, it dropped my EX by 18 points. Now at EX8: 555

your credit report and scores will be all over the place the next couple months as it updates and such. The tradelines will start updating as they get notice of the filing.

Ok so wait a bit before I go on the CR and start making sure they show IIB then? Ie wait for them to start reporting as that?

Just got the alert EQ has added the BK on there. NO change in score with it added. EQ8: 565

So update today 2/20/21

I got an alert 2 different times today saying EQ and EX has a new BK7 filed on them. EX score went down 18 points, EQ stayed the same and didn't loose any. TU score didn't update on here but when I pulled the CR all 3 have the BK7 showing now. I wonder why the TU didn't update score wise on here yet...no biggie tho.

Update: 2/21/21 All 3 CR are now showing the new BK7 on the reports and all 3 scores have updated/reflected the changes. All the individual accounts havent shown any movement yet.

All 3 CR showing BK7 on them: 2/21/2021
2/21/21: EX8: 555 (down 18 pts) after showing on CR
2/21/21: EQ8: 565 (0 point change) after showing on CR
2/21/21: TU8: 594 (down 16 pts) after showing on CR

I am going to follow your journey, as it will closely reflect mine with 2 bks reporting...about the same timeframe too! Good luck on your rebuild. You've got this!

1 thing I thought was that I was thinking I would take a bigger hit (knock on wood, I am thankful) with the 2nd bk now showing. only lost 18 points on EX, 0 points on EQ and 16 points on TU. Will be interesting to see where they go once things start showing IIB. I am hoping I can get some deletes (CA) off when they show as IIB....or some good wills.

so, as expected, accounts are starting to show updated to show IIB (or BK initial something) Either way, once that remark is added, the balance should also report $0, correct?

If I remember correctly, my accounts didn't reflect a zero balance until I received my discharge.

I don't remember if this happened last time I filed CH7, but alert with a whopping -46 DROP because they have my 7 trade-lines (yes 7 LOL) of my Navient SL account showing IIB with $0 balance (total is like $18k) EQ and EX doesn't show that. oh btw...they are all 7 good TL as well, never been late or anything so now that hurts since they all have the bad flag on them...I can't remember but is this normal?

The student loan reporting will correct itself, mine did. Remember the next few months your reports and scores will fluctuate.

Good points. Ty. Ya, was like ouch 46 point loss when they are 7 (good paid as agreed/never late) TL but with that remark on there they are flagged as bad accounts right now. Well, once DC at least hope to get a good bump once they report good again.

My scores dipped a ton after both car loans and my private student loans got listed as closed and IIB, which makes sense as that was all of my installment tradelines. Once the first auto loan came back my TU jumped 70+ points

Wifey had federal student loans and they didn't go anywhere lol. I still owe my private student loans but the tradeline is still listed as closed, IIB, never late. I expect over the next 30 days it'll resolve itself, we were just discharged on March 2nd...

Thank you! I figured that they will just sucks to see it tank in the short term. Good news is they are all good 7 TL so I know I'll get points back when they show back to normal.
