Just wanted to update everyone. From the time of my discharge in Feb 2019 I have gone on discover's website for pre-qual. At one time about 1 year post BK 7 I was pre approved for discover IT card. I did apply and was declined. Reason was past/prior account. From that time forward I have tried pre qual with no pre qual with the same reason ( past/prior account status). I have a great rebuld going thus far. current Experian FICO 8 is 683 but discover is not quick to forgive. Also tried Synchrony about the one year mark and was declined for both Lowes and Amazon at different times. Both synchrony and discover were included in BK. I am wanting to try synchrony again, but a little gun shy. I am happy to share rebuild and data points as they transpire.

So I am reviving your old post lol

How is your rebuild going? Did you ever apply for Synchrony? Did you have any luck?

I have not had any accts with Synchrony for years (care credit closed for no use but always pais on time, amazon closed forever ago cannot remember why), did not include them on BK and I really would like a couple of their cards, so I am trying to gather some data points.

Finally got back in with a Lowe's card. I did the pre approval and was approved for 1k. As of last week discover is a hard NO

Oh man! I was hoping you had better luck with other Synchrony products.

I know Discover is a no for a while after BK. So I will not even bother.

I really have no use for a Lowe's card so I have not even checked prequals. I mean, I do not shop there enought to justify having a card. But I would love an Amazon or a Care Credit. So I guess I will continue waiting

I have looked but I have not found any pre approvals for care credit.

I am 5 years 4 months post bk7, I burned Disco. They still wont let me back in. YMMV
