Which capital one ~18 months post discharge

Hi there,

I am about 18 months post discharge 4/2020 I think, lol. I haven't followed any if the steps (from bk to 720 in 2 years) because I was so stressed with credit card debt I didn't want them and well, the pandemic... I randomly pre-qualified for Capital one and was recommended for Quick silver, Savor, and venture... should I apply and which one.

Last I checked my scores were about 700.

QS would be a good start. No AF. Savor has higher standards and $95 yearly fee. Probably get the $3000 SL thats been happening lately.

They denied me for silver and gave me savor, but I thought it said no AF. Do you think I could switch it to QS?

Capital One has been spamming me with pre-approval invites to the ~~Savor~~ SavorOne card for months and it always says "No annual fee" with 3% cash back on "dining, entertainment, popular streaming and at grocery stores". Those categories should cover a lot of people's spending.

I don't think you need to do anything right now except figure out how you are going to make use of this new tool you have acquired. And make a plan to build a good credit profile. And then execute that plan. You will be glad you did that when the time comes that you really need a good credit score to get something you need.

Congrats on your approval! Was 700 a Fico score? I also filed a BK it was discharged in March 2021, they gave me a Venture with a $10k limit. What was your limit and did you burn them?

I did not burn them and my limit was 5k

I was denied for Venture because I already had an app in for Savor. Now I'm curious as to when I can reapply

You can reapply after 6 months, IIRC. Unfortunately, the card cannot be switched to something else since Savor and/or Savor One cards are currently restricted for PCs. Be sure to check out/read the T&Cs that come with your Savor card as there's a $95 annual fee unless you mistakenly applied for SavorOne which has no AF.
