Gas company still hasn't included my account in BK (BK is now DC)

My gas and electric bills were included in my BK. The electric company closed out my account and started a new account number with a zero balance. The gas company hasn't done anything yet. I contacted them a few times just to make sure things were going to happen like they are supposed to. They told me they needed my BK info from my attorney (filing date and number). The attorney sent that to them. I followed up about a month later and was told they needed a 309A form. I believe that is the same info, not sure. Anyway, I sent that request to my attorney so sent them my BK info and CCed me on it.

My fuel assistance application was approved a couple weeks after I filed BK. They sent an $850 payment to the gas company towards the end of May (I filed March 23rd). The gas company applied that towards the balance that was IIB. My BK was discharged last week and at this point, I am still waiting for this to be corrected. I emailed my attorney about the situation last week. Still waiting for him to get back to me. Any suggestions for this? I keep getting told they forwarded my info to the department that handles it.

I'd keep pestering the attorney and would send the BK info to the gas company... again and again until everything is right.

I have to ask...why are you asking for assistance when you put down $17,000 for secured cards?

You don't need it, you got a fresh start, and first order of business should be responsible management of everything. Looking for assistance when it's not needed while dumping thousands into secured cards doesn't scream of need to me.

Besides, weren't you looking for ways to get rid of all those gift cards (cash equivalents) you got? Put them to use this way instead for "money order" route.

Because I qualify for it. Just barely but my income allows me to qualify for fuel assistance which gave me close to a $900 credit towards my bill. The amount prior to filing was discharged in the BK so most of that is a credit balance that will carry me into part of next Winter. I'll be able to qualify for it again then. Besides them paying my bill, I also get a low income rate of about 30% off my gas and electric bills. That money I put towards the secured cards was pretty much everything I had saved. Now it's just savings I can't tough until the cards are unsecured.

The gas company straightened everything out last week so it's all good now.
