Citi CC after BK7

I was DC'd from my BK7 in 2019. I burned a Citi card in the BK. What is the consensus on getting back in with them? Are they like Chase and you are blacklisted?

Citi has a long memory it will quite sometime .

I think most all the good cards will frown at you for a while especially if they were burned, some much longer than others

Citi has a very long memory. I was able to get back into Citi 2 years after my chapter 7 discharge with a Best Buy store card. Note that this card is handled through Citi's reatail credit card division. Over the years, I added the Macy's Amex, Wayfair MC, Shop your way rewards MC, and the Costco Visa.

It can be done, it just takes time.

Interesting, Citi was IIB in my 2015 Chapter 13 and so far at least, they won't even give me a secured card.

The cards listed above are serviced by Citi. Not a true Citi card. My Home Depot and Shell are Citi. Just like NFCU More Rewards AMEX. Or even Credit One's AMEX. You wont get into AMEX or Citi for yrs but can have a co-branded service by the big boy bank cards.

I included both retail and regular Citi cards in my bankruptcy.

I always thought that the Costco cards were part of the core Citi portfolio since Citi promotes them heavily on the website, and the retail cards like Best Buy, Sears, and Wayfair aren't.

I will have to look at the disclosures for those cards when I get home.

@Guyatthebeach yeah I would be interested in knowing. I would love to have the Citi Costco card again, maybe I will try applying. Costco is one of the places I shop at the most.

I don't have the original T&C's that came when I got the card. On the website, the T&C's show Citi. When I called customer service, the rep said it was handled by Citi. I also checked a TU Vantage3 CR, Costco shows up as Citi with a PO Box address in Souix Falls, SD. My Best Buy store card, Wayfair MC, and Shop Your Way MC all show as CBNA, all going to different addresses in Souix Falls. Also my Macy Amex shows as Amex/CBNA.

So your guess is as good as mine. Citi doesn't have anything that excites me enough to apply yet. Now if they had a good offer, I may think about it.

Thank you for looking that up. I figured it was done through Citi Bank because it’s listed on their website. I thought about applying, but after my recent app spree, I’m content with the cards I have. The Costco card doesn’t have offer anything compelling.
