Ch. 7 Discharged Today

My Ch 7 was discharged yesterday, exactly 3 mo. and 1 day after filing...It was a very smooth process.

In regards to rebuilding, I have obtained the following 3 credit cards:

Mission Lane - 1k

Credit One AMEX - 1k

Capital One Platinum - 3k

No yearly fees are associated with any...I also applied for all 3 almost simultaneously 2-3 days after my 341 meeting...I've made small purchases on 2 of them and larger ( Xmas ) purchases on the 3rd...I am currently carrying 0 balance on 2 and $25 on Cap One.

( I should add that I did the above before I had read the rebuilding thread on this forum, obviously didn't do quite as recommended ).

But, since reading that thread I do feel I'm in relatively good shape going forward...That said, I haven't taken out a loan to repay yet and may not until summer/fall...I do want to rebuild, but unlike many of you, I'm a "youngish" retiree and the bulk of my major purchases where credit would be required are behind me...I also have a husband with good credit and a healthy credit line that we have access to if need be.

As to my current credit scores, a few days ago 2 were hoovering in the low 600's and 1 in the very high 500's...I feel those will begin to go up as my credit cards begin to report...I'll be checking them again in early Feb.

Just thought I would share my experience to date.
