was finallyapproved for pended pathfinder $6.5k limit. I'm about 2 years 3 months post DC. My insight is that they are currently approving at the 2 year mark and I say this because I applied 7 times prior to the 2 years and was declined. Once I hit 2 years they sent me pre approvals for car loans, personal loans Etc. hope this info helps out.

im thinking im using the same inquiry and applying for another one. I like their platinum cars 5x the points at gas stations has anyone had luck get 2 cards at the same time?

Congratulations on your PENFED approval!

Let me know if you were able to the Platinum card, because yes it is possible to get two cards with them off the same pull. Now that was before Penfed started having financial issues.

Congrats on the approval! Yes, they will use the same pull for 30 days so definitely try for another card if that is what you would like to do.

I checked to see if I could be pre-approved after reading another post here. That was declined but I was approved for a $5200 loan (didn't take the offer). It's been 22 months since my DC so I'll probably try again in a few months. They are sending me a letter so I'll see what they list for a reason.

@Guyatthebeach got TD for the platinum card as a second card. Just FYI. Such good points too for gas and groceries kinda sad lol. Pathfinder has got intro bonus so I'm happy

@masscreditcheck to see if your pre approved for auto. I was pre approved for CC 6 months ago but not auto and was still declined when I did app. Was pre approved for personal loan 3 Mknths ago but not auto and was TD for CC. Once they pre approved me for auto that's when they approved my CC app

This post is encouraging. Penfed is my primary CU now, and once I clear the discharge hurdle, I can wait 24 months to get into their credit good graces.

I'm going to be looking to them for some products soon. First an SSL and maybe a CC. Was just comparing their cards and see that they list this info -

Good/Excellent Credit

No declared bankruptcy or loan default in the last 6 months. No accounts more than 90+ days overdue in the last 3 months. No excessive credit inquiries over the last 1 month.

Meeting these criteria is not sufficient alone. Additional factors from your credit history and application will also be considered in the determination of extending credit. You may use the “See if I pre-qualify” button, which will not impact your credit score, as an indication if you may qualify. You can pre-qualify, meet the above criteria, and still be declined.

I'm hoping to be able to get back to having a relationship with them.

@scotty37 They weren't part of mine. I've checked their pre-qualification page for cards. No luv there. I have a couple of checking accounts with Chase and would like to get in with them for credit cards at some point. I filed 2 1/2 years ago.

That's not true unless they changed their policies lately. My BK7 was discharged July 2020 and 5 months later (Dec 2020) I was approved for the Powercash. 3months after the approval, I applied for the Gold card but got counteroffered another Powercash that I accepted. The limits were $2k and $2.5k respectively. Eventually applied for the Pathfinder 9 months after the second PC approval and got $10k. Within this same timeframe I financed and refinanced multiple cars with them. Something really went fundamentally wrong with Penfed sometime around 2023 till date. They're just not the same anymore.
