Please post what credit cards you got with a bk on your credit reports and how soon after bk were you approved.

I got the target red card 3 months post bk
I also got the Firestone card 2 months post bk

I got a Capital One cc with a $500 limit 5 months after chapter 7. They sent me a letter staing that if I pay 5 months on time my limit will increase to $750.

Orchard bank $300 1 day post bk. Went to $500 @ 6 months

Capital One Secured ($49 for $200 limit) 2 months post bk

Capital One Platinum $300 3 months after first Capital One card. Went to $750 @ 6th statement

Credit One Platinum $1000 7 months post bk

First Premier $300 7 months post bk

Fingerhut $500 7 months post bk

Capital One Spark Classic (business card) $500 1 year post bk. Went to $1000 @ 3 months

Nissan Motors Auto loan $25,000 @ 3.9% 14 months post bk

I included Capital One and First Premier in my bk.

My wife received a pre-qualified offer from Valero/Diamond Shamrock(Gas) in the mail yesterday. We went online and applied and was approved. We filed in January and we have not been discharged yet. I don't know the limit yet it only said that we were approved. So you can add them to the list of BK friendly creditors.

I received a Cap ONe cash rewards card with a 2000 limit. Our Ch 13 was discharged April 9! I was very surprised.

I only carry a balance on Firestone because if I dont then they don't report. I try to get an oil change or fluids topped off and never more than a $30 balance. For everything else I buy something real small and pay it off

Did you file against Cap1 in your chp 13? I filed against them as well for about $1500 and am wondering if I will be on their blacklist. I keep trying that pre-qualifier on their website but it never gives me anything.

Capital one has a Cash Rewards card that I believe is BK friendly.Try using capital one's Pre-qualify check here https://findmycard.capitalone.com/PageVersions/LandingPages/LP_UNS_MS_V02.aspx

Thanks! My wife was preapproved for the Cash Rewards when we put in her information, I was not so she only app'd and was approved for $2000. We just added me as an AU. DId not want to risk the inquiry and getting declined.

Exactly 6 months after bankruptcy (Ch7), one secured Visa from State Credit Union was converted to an unsecured Visa with $1000 limit. PNC would not approve my app for an unsecured card with them. They told me I had to have my secured card for atleast a year. Well after calling twice on it, they would not budge, so I'm leaving it alone. I did get approved for a Barclays Apple Card with a $2200 credit limit. I'm happy with where I am in this stage of my recovery and am leaving this alone. I will try again with PNC at the one year mark of having their card.
