American Express Simply Cash

So I applied for the Amex Simply Cash and got a message to call. I called and they said everything looked perfect on my application but they couldn't approve because of a prior application being approved. I only app'd the SC once. She did it manually and said it said I had too many Amex cards and said she could see if they will approve it if I agree to give up my BCP or ED card and they would do another HP. I have been trying to get another business card for so long that I said yes. I agreed to close one of my personal cards as long as they leave me the BCP and combine the CL's. Then I got disconnected. I almost let it go at that. But something told me to call back.

I called back and got another girl who said everything is perfect and asked how may times did I apply for the SC. I told her the same thing and she said, ok let me force this through. She said should hear in 24 hours of my limit and all that from the final review team. I did not tell her what the last lady said. But she did not seem to worried about the number of cards and thanked me for joining the AMEX business team.

Any idea of what I can expect? The anticipation is killing me. I have been trying to get in with Amex for many years and thanks to you fine folks I managed that last week with 2 personal cards. I took a gamble and went for the SC because I have only my Cap 1 Spark with a $1750 CL and it is virtually useless to me because my invoices through my suppliers are at minimum $5k and have been as high as $15k. I am totally stoked. I just hope I don't get a $500 SL. I mean, if I do, I do I imagine they will be easier to grow than Crapital One.

If the lady said that then you should be good. I would reach out to the EO's office tomorrow if you don't get an email.

It's odd that they're seeing on their end that you already app'd for it.

On their website it says good for businesses with $200,000 or higher income annually is yours over 200k?

"Who is this card for?
For businesses with revenue of greater than $200,000 and who want to earn cash rebates on their everyday business purchases."

I got it!!! I just got the text welcoming me and telling me how to download the app. No details yet, still waiting on the email. Totally stoked! Only my second business card!

I might have spoken too soon. lol. I got that text and nothing since. Still shows in progress on their site too. But, I thought the application says if I am approved, send me the link to get the app. So, time will tell.

[I jumped the gun on giving you a kudo just now before making it to the bottom. Seems rude to take it away now.]

If you get instantly approved, you can add the card to your existing online account immediately, otherwise I think you have to wait until you get the card to add it.

When you say "In Progress," you mean on the check application status page it still says: "We will notify you once your application has been processed, or if we need additional information. If you wish to view an electronic communication of your decision details once we have made a decision, click here" ?

I got a few of those sitting in my account from when I tried to move more of my Blue credit line to SPG before 30 days had passed since I last did so, but I also have 2 that still say In Progress from the first ($4k) time and second ($4k) time that it was approved (instantly). Don't give up hope yet!

That is eactly what it says. I have called them twice and they told me it looks perfect and just need a day or two to be completed. One told me it was a done deal and the other said its a sure thing. Keeping fingers crossed.

So I got a letter over the weekend stating I have been approved for too many AMEX cards in a short period of time and that this one was declined. I called this morning and the guy told me to disregard the letter. He said it is still a go but still under review and said they are having an issue with business cards and fraud. He said I should have an email soon and the card in a few days. Not sure what to make of that since they keep saying that but he had the chance to say it was declined several times and didn’t. Is this normal for business cards?

I have not app’d again yet. Might in August. They pulled Experian for me.

I hate to burst your bubble but even if you're approved they start people pretty small on this card. In my case my SL was 3k. After 6 mos. I asked for, and got, a 3x CLI to 9k.

I decided to take the plunge a week ago and app the Blue Business Plus since it has the 2x promo going on. Instant denial. Got the email telling me they were finished and had made their decision and when I go to the decision its the decision from my Simply Cash app and my old apps from April. It doesn't show this one at all. So today I decided to app the blue cash with no AF on my personal account because it shows up in my card offers but I read here that might not mean anything. Same thing. No HP, No letter, no nothing. Its like they told me "We told you to wait.". I am grateful it was not a HP and I got some answers.
