Seems like a pretty good card with 2x points on your fist 50k in spend with no AF. I do really like this, and I wish they would come out with a consumer version of this. Still, 2X MR points for basically all purchases is nothing to sneeze at. I'll consider apping.

Pretty sure you can just use social on your app. You don't need an actual EIN from my experience with other Amex biz cards.

Cant really go wrong with this card IMO. 2x on all. I would grab if I didnt recently get the SPG business and have 65k already with Amex. There is a 20k sign-up bonus for 3k as well floating around.

Suggest googling best use of membership rewards points but typiaclly good for travel... Points are worth anywhere from .5 approx cents to 7+ cents per points depending on how you redeem. Not meant for cash back, meant to be transfered to partners once to partners possibly other parnters,etc... alot of reading you will have to do if interested in MR rewards cards and google will be alot better friends than we ever could be

Whether you have to use an EIN or not is irrelevant. You still have to provide business info like the name of the business, yearly earnings, etc. While you don't have to have a large business applying for this or any other business credit card without any business is fraud.

Irish keep in mind that as a sole proprietor one doesn't need to have a formal business. If you do anything type of service at all that earns money outside of employment that is enough to be classified as a sole proprietor.

Also, Amex business card applications revenue is a drop-down menu with the first option being roughly 0 to 50k, which obviously encompasses most people who would be honestly approved as a sole proprietor but are questioning whether or not they can get a business credit card.

I understand what a SP is. That is how I applied for all my business cards and without an EIN. Nonetheless you still must have a business of some sort. There are a lot of people that apply for business cards without any at all and they are committing fraud. I am just making it clear to the person who asked whether you have to have a business to get the card. The answer is yes you do. At least, as you mention, something that generates income. Amex is a bit more lax than others. If you're ever grilled by a Chase business credit analyst about your business you better be more prepared than just saying I earn some extra income outside my main employment

Thanks, I called in and got the bonus offer. I have been feeling the need for a second bank and biz card, I have a few businesses. For those asking about the need for a EIN I had no problem just giving my SSN and using the card for more than one business even if one is in corporate form. I did the application over the phone and they wanted very little information, they didn't even ask me to break down my sources of income. The CSR did not know for sure, but it appears to have been a SP.

I just got the older amex blue business card a few months ago. Very tempted to pull the trigger on this as well but not sure how amex will view that since I am at my overall credit ceiling with them. Wondering if I should close my personal blue cash card which I never use to free up some credit.

Diversity is key. It depends on your amount of spend. With only a little spend focus on one program. I have enough spend where I spend a lot in the 5x ink categories so I use those cards for that stuff and for non-bonus spend I use my amex blue card because I'd rather earn two amex MR's than only one chase UR. When it comes time to plane a trip it gives you a lot more options when picking flights because you have access to a lot more travel partners. My current trip I am going to fly out on an airline in one program and fly back on an airline in a different program. If I was just putting points into one program I probably wouldn't have been able to book F both ways on the airlines I wanted.

I value UR points over MR points as well but I use both. I wanted to have a second bank for my business cards and Amex is the only bank that made sense, at least to me.

FWIW - it was a hard pull and not a soft pull. Experian.
