Question regarding Amex Hilton Honors Business card

So I recently helped my wife apply for the amex HH business card. All of her past applications including 2 business cards were instant approvals. On this one it said pending and to call for further details. We called and the rep said that the Executive review team was reviewing the application and to call back in 24-48 hrs for the status. Does anyone else know what this means or what they are looking at. She was just approved the other day for the Amex Plat (Amerprise version with no issues).

This seems to happen if you apply for too many cards too quickly with AMEX. The executive team will review your application. Approval could go either way depending on credit profile, experience/standing with AMEX, etc.

So she was approved ! Amex never contacted us for addl info. 10k SL. 125k HH honors points after 3k spend.
