Thanks for the guidance and advice. I applied for the spark about a two weeks ago and they sent me a conditional approval. They have since asked for documentation in order to verify the address. I’ve already have two capital one personal cards. A secured and a platinum that was PC to QS but didn’t increase the balance. The secured I’ve had over a year and the QS about 10 months. Both have only received one CLI each but the limit is set to $500 on both. I’m praying that I not only get the spark but a decent SL.

(Applied before I went into the Garden) Just thought I'd mention, Capital One approved me for 2k---which is what I asked for on the Spark (Obviously Classic). I expect it to grow, I intend to PC at a later date.

I'm gratful since BBVA (SP) denied me as their Underwritting requires 5 years from discharge date. And my primary bank denied me. Strange that a bank that was burned is letting me back in, but I'm grateful.

FICO8's in the 670's.

How many years after discharge did you get approved for the Cap1 Spark?

Hi

I was approved in October of 2018. I filed in November of 2016.

So right around 2 years .

One other thing, I deliberately waited 2 years before applying to anything Capital One . And they approved both a personal and business card within a month of each other .

Capital One has been good to me from the beginning .

Edit :
I did burn them too. Both business and personal, unfortunately. Also when I applied to Cap1 a few months later, Barclay reduced my limit, marginally but still.... So I closed the Barclay account . Barclay bank is a bully and I got what I needed from them . Good riddance

Thank you for your prompt response. Currently, I’m 14 months post discharge (1 March 2018) and have two Cap1 personal credit cards with $500 limits. I did not burn them in bk, however I was wondering what my chances of approval were for the Spark business card.

Spark does not show up for me on the prequal site. We’re you prequaled before you applied?

Edit: My filing date is 2 November 2017

No problem. Let me know if you have any more questions about it that I may be able to help with .

Also,. Capital One instantly approved me for 3000 on the personal card right out the box . So, personally I'd wait until you've had the personal card for 6 months and put good spend on it before applying to spark .

The only reason I had the courage to apply to spark was because they didn't start my personal card at minimal limit .
