easy for you to say, you have like 10 biz cards. I'm planning on using them for business. As for the stocks I have plenty of CL on my personal business but I'm tempted to use them if i need to get a signup bonus or give stocks away/gift cards.

Hi I'm stuck deciding on Amazon Business Prime and American Express Blue Business Plus. This will be my first business card and I'm sorta on the edge on both. I already have the Chase Amazon Prime card and the Amex BCE card so it will just overlap. I don't plan on spending more than $500 annually, though I plan on spending $1,000 to $3000 eventually for some "business venture". Which card would be more accepting for say, "questionable business purchases" such as stocks and electronics? But then again never thought this credit game will push me into starting my own business lol.

I'd call or chat with Amex. Their CSR's will ask you what you need most for your business and type of spend. If what you're wanting the card for is a no-go then it's better to know now and not go that route. If the spend is fine in their eyes then the CSR should be able to point you in the right direction/right card.

I would advise against opening a card for business that you plan to have such low spend on. $5-60 a year in rewards? $500 first year spend would not even approach the required spend for a Welcome Offer. For stocks, the credit card fee charged will almost certainly outweigh the rewards and you may also be hit with cash advance fees and CA rate as most issuers consider it to be a cash analogue. As for electronics there would be no problem but seems to be a waste of an Amex slot for such a small spend.

Since you already have the Chase Prime card, and have no intentions of using the Amex Biz Prime for Amazon i suggest against it.

For example, i have the Amex Biz Prime, and put around $3500 - $5500 Amazon spend annually. At 5% back, the card pays for my Prime membership, plus around $100 or more in additional Amazon purchases. That's the benefit, and reason for me having the Biz Prime card. Again, since you have no intention of using the card for Amazon, and already have the Chase Prime, it is essentially a useless card. It would make sense, imo, if you wanted to keep your Amazon spending off of your credit report, and keep your Chase Prime open for utilization.

As for the BBP, it's a great card. 2x MR points on all purchases up to $50k annually. Your spend won't come anywhere near that, so you'll be getting 2x MR points per dollar spent.

The BBP doesn't overlap with your BCE because the BBP earns 2x MR points per dollar, where your BCE earns cash back.

Lastly, i will say that i don't suggest getting a business card and using it for spend that is not business spend. That's not what they're for, and it's clearly written in the terms of agreement, that the cards are for business spend only. Whether Amex requests proof, that's not the issue. But, from what you're mentioning above it could likely raise red flags and cause shut downs. Use at your own risk, if you decide to move forward, YMMV.
