Amex BBP applied and pending review

Hi all,

I applied for the Amex BBP and the screen said "pending review". I called the number that was shown and spoke to a csr. She said she had to verify some info, she asked my DOB and address. She also asked if I wanted my card expedited once I am approved. She informed me that there was nothing else needed and I should receive an email soon. I am wondering if this is an approval or denial. I never experienced this before as I have been with Amex for some time and currently have 4 other cards with them. If you have any insight on this please share.

With those scores and previous relationship with AMEX it's hard to think it will be a denial.

Remotely possible though you are at the ceiling as far as how much they will expose themselves and might want to move a CL around in order to approve.

Your income and the CL of the other 4 Amex cards could come into play.

Thanks for the insight! I am hoping it is an approval but you never know. I just checked the Amex status page and it still says "pending" so we will see. I will update when I hear something.

A couple people including myself are in this pending purgatory. I think it's a recent change that some of us will have to wait on results, at least for now.

One thing I did fail to mention was that the csr did say it's a good thing that my application is being manually reviewed. I was once instantly denied for this card, which is the reason for my skepticism. How long have you been pending?

@Anonymous Since yesterday, still anxious though :s

I've definitely had my handful of instant denials from Amex, so I'll take a back office review over that haha

Someone else here has been pending for 2 days, maybe he'll come back with results?

They may only be working on business days, unfortunately

I've heard situations where some people received the pending notice but received an approval via email within minutes. If I don't get a reply by tonight I will assume Monday or Tuesday. Fingers crossed
